I was impressed with the price for this 8tb external hard drive. I have bought WD externals before and have been happy with them

this is 256mb cache from what I read on box. Should be good for most needs.

Crazy that 8TB is small now that 12TB drives are out there. Still holds a lot of content. Like the simple look of these cases.

Tons of storage for the XBox One X which you'll need if you have a lot of digital games & for the extra 4K textures.

I bought it over Thanksgiving since the price goes really low that time around. Good purchase so far.

So far, the WD 8T Easystore desktop is working well on both my old Macbook (10.6.8) and new (Sierra). I did have to spend time researching how to format it for Mac. WD website gave instructions on how to reformat to exFat, but for Macs it needs to be Extended Journaled, GUID. Use Mac Disk Utilities to accomplish this. But before you partition (wipe) this hard drive, remember to download the WD Discovery for Mac.dmg (for Mavericks OS and later ONLY). (WD Discovery doesn't work on my old laptop (10.6.8). Otherwise, Mac Disk Utility, did the job of partitioning in a few minutes. My complaint: WD could do a better job explaining what to do for Mac users. Or, just make their products useful for both Mac and Windows from the start without having to reformat the device.

Hard drive was on sale for $130 during Black Friday. Excellent deal for 8TB. Will use it with my Xbox One

This drive meets my needs and works fine. Very good for weekly backups and creating images.

The drive was recognized immediately. Enclosure is black and fits nicely next to other gadgets.

This external drive is wonderful. Able to back up all files and store in a secure location.

Summary says it all, I keep it plugged in all the time to serve media as well as backups.

This drive has a ton of space for backups. Used regularly and the USB 3 speed is amazing!

Big, fast (USB 3), USB 2 compatible (but why?). Comes with a transformer brick -- not bad but it'll eat a 2nd 120V slot. Has included backup software. (I never bother and manage it all myself, but I'm like that.) 8TB raw drive gives 7.3TB "usable" space because of the power of 2 thing and NTFS eats a little bit of space itself. If this actually a problem go back to using 720K floppies instead.

Great drive for the price. I have been using it for several months with no issues.

This was an easy to use item, set up was easy and plenty of storage

easy to setup and stream content over local wifi with existing nas hardware.

Works well like all my previous WD My Book HDD. This one, however, does not come with password encryption. All my other My Book HDD did. I got this at a great Black Friday price so I'll keep it. But I will not buy anymore.
