We had read reviews prior to the purchase and had learned to definitely NOT use the pre installed software. Deleted the software and it has worked perfectly!

Always love using Western Digital Drives and highly recommend this one! Also, was very impressed with Best Buy's curbside pickup when I was traveling with my dog. Made it easy to pick up the drives!

I have had an older model and after five years I noticed it was getting full. So I ordered another one to take the place of my old one which still works.

Added this to my PS4, it works flawlessly and allowed me the room to install games and apps that were not able to be used. USB cable was long enough to run behind everything so is mostly out of site and the drive is very quiet.

Perfect drive for backing up my NAS drive. Easy to connect. You may need to reformat to another file system like FAT32 or NTFS. Default is exFAT. Not all OS read exFAT.

This was easy to set up. However, I can hear when it is running and it does slow the computer a little when actually doing the back up. I have it set to back up every hour so for a couple of minutes every hour on the hour the computer runs slower. I could not find any setting to run the backup program at a lower priority.

Quality affordable consumer backup drive. You will need to erase and re partition it for Apple though. We recommend replacing these every three years and keeping the old one as a backup!

I upgraded from a USB 2.0 WD drive (that has served me faithfully for years) and expect the same reliable -- though much faster -- performance with this one. Backup on the old drive took almost an hour, now it takes under 20 minutes.

Got this for my son. His PS4 was full. This was easy to set up and use by a 13 year old boy. He was able to free up space on his PS4 without deleting his games and all their huge updates.

Geek Squad set it up for me, and it's doing nightly back ups. Also has full back up from 2 older pc's. My only concern is that files take up more room here than on the pc. Everything seems to round up to the next MB. Fortunately it's a 4T external drive so I don't expect to run out of room.

I use it primarily for backup on my MacMini computer with Apple Time Machine. I have not had a single issue with the drive. I had to reformat the drive to work on my Mac but if you set it up to be used with Apple Time Machine software the program will automatically reformat the drive.

Drive is performs as advertised and is pretty quick at backing up files with the USB3 standard. Works out of the box with WIndows and has the capacity I needed.

Hard to know what to say other than the price was right and the hard drive works as intended. Obviously not as fast as a(n) SSD but sufficient for my needs.

Bought this to use for Time Machine Backup drive for my Macbook Pro. Installation was easy and it has been working flawlessly. One note about this is the backup happens extremely fast as compared to the external hard drive it replaced.

This back up drive is the best. It holds all my sons games. Before he had to delete a ton of games to be able to store new games but since we purchased this backup drive we can keep all the games.

This unit is perfect for my home office! The USB cable proved to be long enough so I could tuck it out of the way on a shelf. Now I have plenty of file storage for my design work and music. And I just couldn't pass this up at the price!

Nothing is ever bad until it goes out. So far this product is working well.

We download lots of music, videos, and graphics. We also use these external drives to make backups of our computers and of our other external drives. WD has always been a great product for us through the years.
