Very simple. I like the WD software utility that gives me the option to mount the drive with a password. Only slight is there are no lights. Would be nice to have an activity light.

I love My Book External Hard Drives! This is my third purchase of this type of hard drive from WD, and I would definitely recommend it!

In the past when looking for a backup to my system, I've had to subscribe to services that would never give me an image and all the files. With the WD product, I now get that plus other features.

Needed a replacement drive for my Synology. WD has made it much tougher to shuck the enclosure and I wish they’d let you re-use it with a different WD disk.

Worked as I had hoped. I connected it to my kids ps4 to expand the hdd capacity. No need to open the ps4 and change the drive like ps3. Plug and play and the transfer to the new drive was quick.

I had to reformat it to use on my Mac. Took maybe 10 minutes to look on youtube on how to do it. I have it connected to my router and use to back up all the Macs in the house and to store my photos.

So far the hardware has worked fine although I had to reformat to NTFS from exFAT to work with my router. The WD support did not provide good advice; only suggested to buy different models to work with routers and indicated this model does work with routers.

Set this up as a Time machine on my iMac. Easy to reformat and fast transfer speeds. I just wish this version came with a thunderbolt cable. Otherwise it’s a good drive so far.

I won several WD drives. I find this model to be relatively quiet, doesn't get too hot, and generally does the job intended. Since buying this drive I bought two more including one for a friend.

A backup drive works best if it backs up! I replaced a smaller WD Passport with this 4 TB MyBook & both have the same problem: difficulty meshing with OS Time Machine. The WD utility suite can't even find the volume altho it shows up on my desktop. Automatic backup doesn't happen, but if I shut down, unplug it, restart & plug it back in it will run a backup satisfactorily. When I first got it, it vibrated so bad it was too noisy for my music studio. I put some soft rubber feet on the case & that helped. Also, unlike Passport, MyBook has no light to indicate its status.

Does the job, however an earlier model I had failed while still a young drive. Fortunately the data was recoverable. It would be valuable to your customers to post info on speed and longevity with the hard drives on sale.

I bought this to use as a network storage device. I formatted it and plugged it into my routers USB 3 port and it works great.

I USE IT FOR MY WEEKLY SYSTEM BACKUPS, IT WORKS VERY GOOD. THE ONLY THING IS THAT FOR SOME REASON IT WILL ONLY HOLD O SYSTEM IMAGE. EVERY WEEK THE PREVIOUS WEEKS IMAGE GET WRITTEN OVER

Need device to back up work file on home computer. Only drawback usb cable very short, otherwise just purchase extension usb cable to connect.

Using this to back up all movies/pictures/music/home videos. Great price and memory capabilities. Super fast speed. Using with iMac desktop circa 2015.

Best help when we first walked in. The drive was easy to find, once home it was easy too remove from shell casing and install in,computer.

My cat chewed the power cord on my external drive. I taped the cord together and needed a replacement quick. This was in stick AND on sale. Thanks!

Works great, but the install instructions were non existent. Also there is no off/on button or power light, so you really do not no if it is on or off.

I purchased this external hard drive just before the lockdown last year and it has served me well ever since. Perfect timing.
