5 days after buying this drive... it crashed! 6 weeks of footage trapped on a broken drive. Had to send to recovery specialist. Very disappointed. Been used WD for years. May be finished w this brand. Crushed my deadlines.

Wanted a powered external drive for Mac Mini Time Machine backups. Well, though I do hear some noise during disk access.

Yet another backup for my photographs. Seems I can't have too many. And.....they all work great !!

Easy to use product. Just plugged into my laptop and was able to back-up my information immediately.

My WD 4TB external USB 3.0 has been okey so far, not as fast as what i was expecting but manageable and its quite (compared to my other external drive). Keep in mind it needs to be powered separately to work.

Works great for achiving my desk computer and laptop. Still have a problem with Norton backups with a Netgear Router with USB Port. I sgreat value for the money and it may just be time to replace with acompatible Router.

Needed a larger drive for my Xbox One X. Data transfer from smaller drive was smooth, no issues. I'm optimistic that this drive will hold up long term.

I have used it on WIndows 7, when I connect using usb hub it didn't start up. I had to reboot computer and tried again. Not sure why it doesn't start immediately. Maybe learning curve but as usual no booklet to seek help.

I have a couple WD external hard drives. This one is just like the others and gets the job done.

I needed some extra storage and these 4tb My Book drives offer some good performance and capacity for the money, especially when you find them on sale.

Works great! I am still trying to fill this thing up with xbox downloaded games!

Makes noise when backing up that normal. Periodically make noise without backing up, is this normal?

I had a hard drive starting to fail so I purchased this to back up my data. It connected easily, windows found it immediately, and the data transfer was fast!

for being a mechanical hard drive ,it is the fasted i have ever seen .speed is around 180's to 190 mbs. even out performs the passport from W.D.

Really good so far. Fast on 3.0, which helps for editing video, etc. Always trust WD Black.

I am a big fan of WD drives and this is no exception. My only complaint would be that Western Digital has eliminated the power/activity light on the drive. I really don't understand the logic behind that decision.

This hard drive doesn’t take power or I should say use electricity makes it easier on the power bill and also unhooks and move to another computer making it great to use work on the hard drive on the go
