Have had this for awhile and it works very well. Never had any issues so far, and will continue to use the product.

I needed another external hard drive for storage of my photostuff, as my previous unit was nearing capacity. It should take quite awhile to fill this one.

I purchased this for work. This is my second purchase for the same device. Ample storage depending on what you plan on using it for.

I’ve got many ext. drives from many different makers . Western Is as good as the other brands . Costs same. I won’t know if this is better but after a year from now I probably still be like investment I will get a couple more just like it . Like now . It’s quiet . I notice my pc taking longer to boot and has not wanted to boot several times , so I turn off disconnect and starts up fast . Then I connect it . And that’s the only thing bad that I have to say about it.

This hard drive was purchased to replace an aging WD drive. It was easy to setup and does what it is supposed to do. No issues yet.

Using this for our small offsite office to back up and store files. Easy to install and works great for the price. Working as advertised!

Bought this as a time machine backup. Take my advice and back up everything before you regret it. Small price to pay to save precious data and pictures.

WD MyBook was easy to format for mac. Was able to partition the drive for both document and time machine backups. Backs up data quickly.

I found the prefect external hard drive to keep my files secure. Has plenty of space. I will not need to purchase another in quite some time.

Western Digital states it takes only three simple steps to install on a Windows PC. Don't believe it. Since MS released upgrade 2004 plus multiple updates, I have experienced one PC problem after another. After upgrade was installed, my 7 year old My Book failed to function, although PC showed the drive was recognized and saved files accessible. Tried recommended WD software-did not solve problem. USB ports fully functional. Decided to order a new WD drive believing it had the most current software and drivers. The pre-installed 2019 software on new hard drive did not help. ISSUES: If the HD was connected to the PC prior to boot up, the PC failed to boot up. If the HD was plugged in to the USB port after boot up, could not power off or restart PC. Safely remove hardware icon failed to work. To power off HD, required the PC power button be toggled . To use HD required it to manually plugged into USB port after boot up. RESOLUTION: Partition and reformat the new WD drive before attempting to use. Disregard pre-installed software. After the PC has booted up, plug in the WD USB cord to the Windows PC. Verify the WD HDD is recognized. Download WD's (support.wd.com) procedure identified under Answer ID 8200. Follow instructions to partition and reformat the WD drive. After reformat is done, download WD's Utilities, WD Backup, and WD Security. The new WD My Book is working fine now.

So far it does what it is supposed to do , I just use it to store MP4 videos in it

The external hard drive speed is sufficient and with 4 terabytes of storage there is plenty of space to copy all of my high definition videos.

I use this drive as a second backup drive for multiple PCs in the household. So far it works well without issue.

It has a lot of memory for what it costs, I would buy again

Well WD is best in the HD space and USB 3 is really fast. Good Quality and no complaints from the brand overall.

Use It For Old Files For Safe Storage, Great Price For Amount Of Storage When On Sale!

This is my 4th WD external hard drive. None have failed me and have been solid so far. I highly recommend this drive.
