Has a hiccup when connected to a Windows10 computer. The computer will not boot up when the drive is connected. Can be reformatted but I don't want the drive attached all the time anyway. I mainly use it as backup and archive and I do my own backups anyway.

My book 4tb external hardrive is very fast and quiet. Ive had it for over 3 weeks and i dont even hear it. Im using ut with the invidia shield as an external hard drive. Im using plex. Everything loads up very fast. I would recommend to anyone for invidia shield.

I've had very good experience with Western Digital hard drives over many years. The My Book line of drives for Macintosh have served me well, and Western Digital stands behind them with a strong warranty. I was quite pleased to see this 4TB MyBook available for less than $100 on sale.

This external hard drive is great. Very helpful to save images.

Transferred about 1 tb worth of files over this the HDD. It never froze, had to restart or any signs of transfer overload. Well ventilated item.

While I have used these as external drives, most of the time I quickly pop these apart for the 3.5" drive on the inside. It's takes about 30 seconds if you watch the YouTube videos and they're typically $10-20 cheaper than the internal, plus you get a free USB cable out of it.

I really like the 4TB capacity of this drive, but wish WD would have kept the LED activity light from previous generations. It's a visual reminder that the drive is powered on and let's you see from a distance if it's done copying or not. By leaving it out, probably due to cost, it makes you begin wondering what else they're cheapening up inside the drive.

Bought this For a backup while I was using windows So far it has weathered the storm. It can be formatted to use windows and Mac. No problems like the previous ones I’ve purchased in the past. I would definitely recommend.

Good, solid product that is easy to use. For some reason, this Seagate places itself ahead of my boot drive, tho, requiring me to unplug the dive if I powerdown. It is fast, Inuse it to hold raw file images which are accessed by other processing software. Saving and upload is quick.

Works great. Small foot print to keep it hidden or stored away.

Small. Fits on desk perfectly. Out of sight out of mind....

Very happy with this as a backup external drive for my iMac at my home. Was able to partition for time machine back ups as well as store files. Scored one on sale so happy especially if it lasts me a few years

I purchased this hard drive to act as a NAS (Network Attached Storage) device. I have it connected directly to my router and it works great!! Had to make a few changes in the router to get them to play well together but once that was done it's like I have my own server:)

I needed to upgrade to a new drive to make certain I had one that continued working, and this one is working well enough. Unfortunately it can be a little noisy, but I'm guessing that may be partly due to the fact that it's been dropped a few times. Yet the fact that it's still working afterward is a great plus.

I purchased this a few weeks ago and I am reasonably pleased. I wish it had both an ethernet port and a usb port but I can settle for one. My only issue is that documentation is confusing for the buyer. I chose this model among several because it is similar to the one that I already have. That drive still works but I need more space.
