    I have had the 2 TB "My Book" for several years, with no problems. But I outgrew it, and needed a new one. So this, I know, will do the job marvelously. I've had one or two other smaller external HDs as well, and only consider WD because I know they are reliable, that I can get good tech support from BB if I need it, and the same from WD (which I have used for a smaller, more portable one).

    The My Book 4TB I bought a few months ago started making some mechanical noise after a few weeks. It's still working correctly and the noise level remains the same.

    I use this to back up my security cameras so I can keep tabs on the trash company. I can store about 6 months and watch at my leisure. Trash cans were being dumped in the ditch or they would just drive past. After showing 2 months of footage to company I haven’t had an issue.
