I followed the instructions but it wouldn't work when I tried to backup, said that there wasn't enough space. I had to contact their tech support and have them walk me through how to fix the partition in it so that I could use the full 4TB (but I only have access to 3.6TB of the 4TB for some reason still). Setup was not as effortless as they said it would be in the instruction, but now that I have it working its pretty great to have. Wish I would have gotten one sooner.

A excellent storage unit for pictures and music. I believe this is a great valve.

The bundled backup software works well as a "set it and forget it" backup drive for documents.

So far this drive is fine, as I would expect from WD, but THERE IS NO ACTIVITY LIGHT?!?! When did they stop putting activity lights on drives? Disappointing...

Very good transfer rate. Not DOA like the seagate hard drive I returned before buying this one. Staying with WD from now on.

Works as it should BUT there are NO lights of any kind to let you know it's even on. If for some reason it would get unplugged you'd never know. I have two other WD EHD and they both have lights to let you know they are on as well as to the capacity used. Very disappointing. This is why I gave it a low rating.

I've owned several WD products and they have all exceeded my expectations.

I’m so glad I got the 4 terabyte rather than a 1 or 2 terabyte. The My Book is very easy to place files into.

Formatted easily with Mac but the Time Machine constantly reports failures when trying to do backups.

This is the third WD drive that I have used. The setup was very easy, though I did reformat the disc. The backups are taking place uneventfully, using Time Machine.

What can I say? Its's a hard drive. Transfer speed is what you would expect. Have had problems with WD products in the past but I figured I'd give them another shot

got it to transfer hard drive from Dish Network worked awesome!
