I purchased this drive to connect to my television to use as a media drive. I copied about 1 TB to it so far. Transfer speeds were good. It was plug and play with the TV. No problems so far. Very happy with the purchase.

I have all the space i need taking into account i work with music and animation software and projects

I purchased this removable 4 TB hard drive as a stand alone device to back up my computer's contents and photos. So far the hard drive has worked as advertised. Software is included for automatic backups which I have not yet used.

Was looking for an external hard drive for my xbox one. This was the most recommended hard drive out there. I see why now. Great product and it has plenty of space. Would recommend this for anyone whether its for an xbox or computer.

The unit was so easy to set up. User ready in minutes. Only issue is that some older technologies are not compatible with this memory type. Cannot backup / export email files from an old computer still using Live Mail. That is inconvenient for me. All else works fine.

My old hard drive some how just stopped. I was able to purchase this and copy all of my files to this drive. I needed this to say all of our great memories.

I do profesional Film work and there’s nothing that makes my heart happy knowing that this Hardrive is solid always!

Using it as a backup for my xbox one and so far so good. I bought it because of the limited space the xbox one has and read online that external hard drives can help shorten load times which I have noticed load times have improved but just slightly. Overall a great hard drive.

Does an excellent job of backups, both incremental and full

I purchased this external hard drive for personal use. I've been very pleased with the setup and ease of application with hte device. Now, I can rest easy knowing that I have a backup to my files that I can count on.

Definitely worth getting this for the price of 89 dollars at the time. Was able to connect to my PS4 no problem and was ready to go in a few minutes. Worth the purchase for now!

I needed a drive to back up the laptop I was selling. It is not the latest/fastes being usb 3.0 rather 3.1 which is double the speed, but for the price and the amount I will be backing up is great. If you are moving larger files look somewhere else, but this should be fine.

This external hard drive couldn't be any better. It was super-easy to install. Because of the fast data transfer, it was quick & easy to move data from my old drive to this new one. It's really good.

I bought this so I could have extra storage for my Xbox one games. It did just that and more. Games downloaded faster to this than the actual Xbox. Only thing is I wish it was solid state but I knew that buying it.

I bought this drive primarily as backup for all of my important files. The speed is good but not SSD fast, more than adequate however. I like the fact that the enclosure is ventilated nicely since there's no active cooling available. I have always trusted Western Digital drives with my data and so far I've been happy with every one of them. The only complaint here is not with the actual drive, rather with this case it's in... I do not care for piano black glossy finishes at all because they tend to start looking old and beat up sooner than other textures, but that's nothing to do with the drive so I won't dock a star for that. Overall I can highly recommend this external for backup or average everyday use if need be.

I have purchased 2 of these now.. No problems with either. FAST USB3.0 transfer speeds. Quality packaging. The only thing I can complain about is their choice of a proprietary USB cable (the connection at the back of the HD is not like any other USB cable Iv'e seen = resulting in a 4 star.

Previously owned a WD 2TB drive (for 4 years) and it's still going strong. This one has twice the storage space, enough to back up all of my pictures, videos, and documents. It's also much faster than my old USB 2.0 drive.

I’ve always bought western digital ! Great external drive and works on anything you connect it to. 4tb is enough space to save photos and music. I strongly recommend it. Rate it 9 out of 10

Easy set-up, very little documentation and no USB cable

It’s a great hard drive, and I know it’s petty, but I miss the alternating blue activity lights that were on the older WD externals. I’m sure it will back up my PC for quite a few years.
