Exactly what I needed to set up automatic backups for my parents computer. It would have been better if the configuration to be a networked external drive connected to their router. Setup was easy enough, though I had to configure each user on their computer separately which was time consuming.

Great product works great. Gives extended space for all my games. No complaints.

Great storage device. Make sure you set it on a solid platform with somewhat of a pad underneath. The kerchunking sounds this device mskes when being written to or from can lead to concern.

I chose the Western Digital My Book because of the product reviews that I found on-line. Its stylish no-nonsence appearance first caught my eye but its easy connectivity, simple operation and management software makes it a hit for me.

I own quite a few Western Digital drives (internal and external) and have had no problems with any of them, this drive included. My only complaint is the new design (square, pointy corners) and ultra shiny case (shows fingerprints much more then the older drives).

Expanded my storage capacity on the Xbox immensely. Installs also move faster.

This is a must have for any Xbox owner. The standard 500 GB on the Xbox got used up fast. With a simple plug into the USB port I have more than enough room for any game I want to have access to. Games stored on it load noticeably faster. Just keep in mind it needs to be plugged into an outlet also.

This was cheaper than a 2Tb six months ago. Great price.

I needed to replace my external hard drive I had used for backup. Not only does this work great but the software is the best. Far better than the Windows 7 included with my desk top computer. While I have Windows 10 have no idea why the backup software is Windows 7.

The product was easily installed, and set up was a no-brainer.

A little difficult to set up for Mac. But great drive for the price.

Transferred about 1 tb worth of files over this the HDD. It never froze, had to restart or any signs of transfer overload. Well ventilated item.

I bought this storage drive to store my games. Write speed is definitely slower than SSD. Its expected since this drive is mechanical running at 7500 RPM. Read rate is okay as long as large amounts of data is not being written at the same time.

Bought this to replace another WD My Book. Old drive came with SmartWare Pro (which I believe is discontinued). Old software did real-time backups and would let you save up to 5 copies of the same file. I bought this drive to have the same functionality. It doesn't.

Five Gigabit per second is the upper limit for a perfect USB 3 connection. The hard drive is less than 15% of that under the absolute best conditions such as reading a large unfragmented file to an ssd. The product is good and there is no need to overstate it. It just misinforms and disinforms and contributes to all the confusion generated by the endless ad hype.

Has a hiccup when connected to a Windows10 computer. The computer will not boot up when the drive is connected. Can be reformatted but I don't want the drive attached all the time anyway. I mainly use it as backup and archive and I do my own backups anyway.
