My old My Book finally crashed after Many years of constant service! Always there until the end! This My Book is even better as this one is MUCH FASTER!! Backed up all my media, I have a lot, in no time!!

The drive works well and is very quiet. Just make sure you give it plenty of ventilation. It’s black and sleek design makes it easy to place anywhere.

Although these are bigger than the smaller ones that don't require to be plugged in I think is still a use for these because unlike the smaller external hard drives that just plug into your computer these don't slow down the computer because their power source comes from a plug instead of the computer.

I purchased two of these so that I can keep my wife’s photography on one and use the second one as a backup. I had a Duo drive before, but when the power supply went bad, both drives were lost. These are great.

Bought this to replace my old external, and had no issues installing it. It was also 1GB larger than my last external for around the same price as I paid for the previous one.

WD external Hard Drives has always been my go-to back up store device. They run cool because they're well designed heat dispensation and fast file transfers with the 3.0 USB interface. Great product to save all valuable data.

Was always backing up my computer but was slow and sometime shut down. Bought the MY BOOK and love it. This unit accepts tons of data and download time has been cut in half. I'am a believer in you get what you pay for.

No fault to WD but I bought this to replace my 2TB My Book, because my old WD router with NAS option was EOL. So I bought a Nighthawk AC1900 only to find out it's not compatible.

Effortless installation. I was running out of back up memory for my PC , this external drive replaced 2 smaller drives and still has TB more left. My system is faster and happier. Go get it if you can!

the WD- My Book External Hard Drive is a great product; however, using it for my MacBook proved to be a challenging endeavor (could be operator ineptness). Had to consult YouTube for clear instructions on how to us to backup files.

This external hard drive is very fast. I had purchased another one about 3 years ago. This one is much faster. About double the speed. I thought it was because of the usb 2.0 to 3.0. But, it is way better. Highly recommend it.

The internet reviews say WD is the brand to buy. We bought it to serve as a time machine for our new iMac. It works very well--reformate went smoothly as did the transfer of the files.

I've always had great experience with WD drives. This is the latest addition to my drives; third External, and it lives up to the WD reputation that I know.

A handsome stand-alone external drive for a fraction of the price of a minituarized portable. Handsome design, lightening fast responses, full functionality and out of the box simple implementation.

Good quality hard drive, for the price, the only thing is that I have an IMac with high Sierra and I don’t think is 100% compatible, like when I first turn the computer in works perfect but as soon as it goes to sleep and wake up I can’t open any of the files.

I specifically purchased this to be used as a home network Hard Drive to share and store important back ups with family computers. The simple plug and play is not compatible with Netgear.

Got this hard drive for 2 months now and works great. It will ocassionaly go on power save if you haven't accessed it for a while while it's on but it boots up quickly. I use it for editing and had no issues with it .

It's a good drive. It reads and writes really fast as well. Just make sure it's connected to a usb 3 slot for full speed. Other then that I can't really comment until a few years from now and hopefully it doesn't fail!
