This Western Digital 8 TB External Hard Drive does everything I need it to do. This is my second WD purchase and I am very satisfied. Main use is to store music, movies and pictures.

Works great for my MacBook. I reformatted it for a mac and it has tons of storage and is pretty fast.

Never enough space - always need more! No one wants to delete files, or clean up their drives, pictures, other media, etc - so this is a great deal! It should take a little time to fill up 8TB (but I'm sure I will).

I use these to store RAW camera files and so far I've never had one fail me yet. this is the only external hard drive brand I trust

It’s not the top of the line but it’s great for the price. Louder and not quite as fast as my old 2TB My Book. Having said that, I’m not disappointed with this purchase at all.

I use these external hard drives to store videos, etc. This drive has good speed and plenty of storage space. I've bought the same drive before, so I know this one will be a good drive as well.

Everything is fine with this Hard drive except for the noise. if you are planning to put it on you desk. be prepared for the sound of the internal hard drive working

……however, if you read my other WD HD review, you'll know that I've switched to 10TB (mostly) WD Drives since they have come down so far in price.

This drive fired right up and was recognized within seconds. Drive is a little bit loud when you have to work next to it. Placed it on an old mouse pad and it's quiet.

This product is perfect for backing up all my files.

Works great! Does the auto-backup as advertised for my Apple MacBook Pro. And, I sectioned it of into eight different/separate partitions.

Got this because I wanted to have one drive in house to backup all my files and in terms of its capacity it is great. Don't know when I would full this up but that was the idea. Right after I bought this I switched from windows to Mac and was happy that it was formatted to read both files but after maybe a day or so I kept hearing this humming noise and came to find out that it was the noice from the disks spinning. Didn't like that so I returned it and for the 6tb. Same brand but no noise

I have a 4tb version of this and the 8 gives me more space. You can never have enough storage. Great external drive for the price.

So glad there was an affordable option for a high capacity external hard drive. I kind of wish the power cord was longer but that is just me being picky :) great product!

love this. i currently use this for my playstation 4 and its works good . nothing better than fast download times and lots of storage.

I bought this when it was on sale to back up my PS$ games. Basically a good deal and I always try to back up everything with some type of external drive.

Good price, reasonable speed, quiet, lots of storage. I use it primarily for scratch space for photos while I'm transferring them from raw to other formats for long term use.

I depend on my drives working every day. This drive has proved to be strong, reliable, and fast. This has been the best drive I have ever owned (And I've owned a lot!)

Bought it for the huge storage. I read reviews before buying this and already knew that the drive is gonna be the slowest drive I will ever own. Good drive for what it does at the price but yeah its a slow drive.

A lot of storage at a low price. The password security is a must. I feel good that my data is well protected. WD did it right.
