I do a lot of video and need a lot of storage. This drive is ideal. Easy, fast, and secure. It comes with excellent software.

Purchased this HDD to back up photos, music, and videos. Lots of space for physical size and price. Have had no problems.

I'm a photographer. I needed more storage to put several albums together. This backed up years of photos for me.

Fast and a ton of space finally. The only thing is the new Macbook Pros do not support USB so you'll need a converter to USB C.

My previous 4TB MyBook lasted for years and died just after I spent funds replacing my 10+ year old home computer. In a pinch, I ran to the local Best Buy and purchased another MyBook (8TB) and then set up my CrashPlan/Code 42 account to restore my data. No problem--yahoo for offsite backup. The WD site and built-in software was new, unnecessary, and different. Regardless, all was set up, no data was lost, and I was fully functional again. That was in March 2023. This one died in November 2023. It made a funny noise for a few minutes one day, then poof. Nothing would work. I've now purchased a solid-state option from another manufacturer.

Excellent for photo storage and use with photo editing tools. Finally a nice way to archive and manage photos.

THE WD - My Book 8TB External USB 3.0 Hard Drive - Black IS A GREAT ADDITION TO MY APPLE MAC PRO EXTERNAL STORAGE.

I am pleased to have purchased a My Book 8TB, which allows me to store large files off my computers drive.

Large external drive for storage. Much better than having to have many smaller ones. Easy to hook up to computer.

I have 2 4TB drives in this same series (using one to back up my Qnap NAS). I needed this 8TB to back u my growing data on the NAS. Works good and USB3.0 FAST.. The proprietary USB cable is included - and the only really NEGATIVE thing about these models (maybe so its to deter using a normal USB cable that is TOO LONG to ensure proper data transfer..? idk ?)

Simple and easy to plug and play. Transfer all your files and store them away in all the space you need.

Works great. Fairly easy to figure out for me as a non-techy type person.
