Perfect space and speed, it’s sleek design is an awesome addition to my center. Trusted company and continue to buy from them. The exterior power source makes it seem more powerful aswell and more independent.

Used this drive to completely backup an expiring computer,. No problems running the included backup software. Thought I would have to run s resort process on the new computer, but was able to access the backed up files directly on the new computer. Only con is the lack of any indicators (power/activity) on the device.

You have excellent employees. A hard drive like this one was also at another store. I asked your employee about it. He said that this was an excellent hard drive , and it was also on sale. Well done.

I've only used this for a short time, so I can't comment on its reliability. But it works well so far as a backup drive. I did reformat it for Mac OS Extended (Journaled). Purchased on sale so a super value.

This is my 5th "My Book External Storage Hard Drive" This one is 8 TB which is tons of rooms for my files, photos and videos. I am avid photo/video lover and this hard drive can handle it all. I'll have to buy another one though so I hope they will have a 16TB soon.

Great external drive for games or movies, etc. Very fast for a hard drive rather than an ssd. Would recommend if you want something to backup your PC and store your older games on.

I originally purchased this for my Xbox one. When I looked for an external hard drive, I searched specifically for ones for use with Xbox one. This was one of the ones on the list. The price was descent and with 8TB I figured I would never run out of room. I bought it hooked it up and started to transfer games from my Xbox hard drive to this one. Every thing was going fine for about a month then this hard drive dropped everything and had 0 games on it. t also would not accept any downloads. I took it back to Best Buy and because it was only a month old I had no problem with a return. This hard drive may be good for use with a computer, but NOT for Xbox one.

I upgraded from a 4TB Toshiba External Drive. I am truly happy with the added space and price paid. I've owned it for about 4 months now and no problems whatsoever. Very reliable and would highly recommend to anyone looking for a higher capacity drive.

This drive has a great white drive within. I use it as a network backup device and it works as well as the 3tb WD it replaced. Very pleased with the speed, which is about 150 MB/s both directions.

I bought WD My book to back up my other external hard drive. I'm on Windows and the set up was easy. Transfer speed is great and I like that it comes with a 3yr manufacturer warranty.

I'm still transferring my data to this unit, but still I think it will help in what I want it to do for me. - This is about my tenth unit, I started with a 500gb . I am a digital MUSIC collector

Seems to be relatively quick for file transfers although I believe it is a 5400 rpm drive. The drive does make a slight clunk sounds every few seconds but I believe that is normal for this model.

Holds a ton of music and movies. Transfer speeds seems adequate. Using it with my Nvidia Shield Pro. Only issue I have with this is the clicking sound. It's pretty annoying and constant. The drive has a hard time going into sleep mode when I put my shield into sleep mode. All in all great drive.

My book cannot start when I plug it. I had to unplug many times

As a video professional, storage is a major issue for me, and I’ve had all major brands of hard drives over the years. Single drives and NAS devices. When it comes to affordable backups I have been very satisfied with Western Digital drives.

I've only tried 2 of these 8TB USB drives, one seems slower than the other, neither seems to be as fast as the 10TB drives. I haven't compared them objectively. This is a subjective judgment and could be coincidental.

I have been using WD external drives for years. Always outlasts the warranty period by at least a couple of months. The black models seem tom outlast the warranty the best. My external drives are always powered up, so your mileage may vary.

I bought this as a backup drive for large video files (usually 100GB+). It works well without fail. I would prefer a more generic case that could be opened to remove the drive, but others will probably appreciate the style.

This external drive works very well with quick information transfers from my iMac. The only issue I have had was when I lose electricity it takes time for the drive to show up.
