Gives me the space I need to store my many photos, freeing up space on my computer, which now runs better.

I have been happy with several of my WD My Books. They are reasonably quick. The set up is just plug it in. Just do not drop it!

Works as expected. Have purchased several "My Book" external hard drives in the past for back-up.

Love the small footprint and the quick speed of backing up files and searching through the information. Easy to use the backup software and scans through files great.

Quickly traps and ensnares those 1s and 0s that try to get away. We need the digits for a reason. Use this number prison to safely contain those little rascals!

I purchased this 8-terabyte hard drive for my personal photos in videos as an archivable vault. after storing approximately 2 terabytes of data the hard drive began to fail by refusing to download files and became progressively worse within a 3-hour period. I have about 9 external hard drives purchased over a 15 year. From Western Digital and never once have I had a problem with any of the data storage devices. I have switched to a solid-state device with the hope that I never run into this problem again and the possibility of losing family treasured photographs and videos.

This is a must buy for people who play a lot of different games or who have multiple users on one system. Don't waste money on buying internal HDD's, this is all you need.

I’d like a switch to turn it on/off rather than just plugging it in but decent, even running 8K R3D files off it without too many dropped frames.

The My-Book 8 terra byte storage system is a simple use external hard drive and excellent security systems in place.

I have always bought Western Digital external hard drives and never had any problems with them!! This is my second 8TB as I never save anything to my computer's hard drive.

Works great. Takes a little time for the first back up,then after that you are all set. Just plug it in when you would like to back up. We used this for both mac books.

Finally I don't have to worry about running out of backup space for a while. It's great to be able to consolidate backups from various drives onto one device.

I do my updates on an hourly basis and have no issues as of yet. My first week with this I would check the back up files daily to ensure it was working. Great product.

Write speed feels a little slow with lots of small files but otherwise has been fantastic!

So far so good! Takes a sec to get the wheels spinning if inactive for a while. But my content is safe!

So far it hadn't died yet, I'm done with seagate because I had a few die.
