8TB is more than plenty for backup purposes and long term storage. Recommend this for stationary/non travel storage

Worked as expected but not with my usb3 port in my router, so had to take back to BB

Not as fast as I would like but it is not a SSD. Price point is good, I would buy another.

This drive worked just fine for about two years until it started to cause me problems. I would often get freezing when I'd try to delete anything off my device or download files to it. Right now I can still open anything prior to drive going bad, but any time it gets a single kb of space downloaded to it, it just flat out refuses to respond and freezes my explorer permanently until I unplug the power to the enclosure. It's unfortunate really, but I've moved to the Easystore drives for their more reliable Red drives that are placed into the enclosures instead of these Blue Drives. It's also disappointing because I had Geek Squad protection and it just ran out about 4 months ago and this happened right after the 2-year limited warranty with WD and 2 years with Geek Squad. If this was like the Easystores, I'd personally take it out of the enclosure and see if it was an enclosure problem. But if I'm not mistaken these particular models are locked to the enclosure basically rendering them useless if they go bad. Honestly, I'd steer away from this model and go for the Easystore drives instead for more reliability.

I hooked this up to a ps4 and after setting it up it does what it's meant to and its quiet.

Product has been working great, but the hard drive spindle can make a lot of noise compared to other external hard drives.

I use this hard drive for my work and personal use, this ins one brfand I go for all the time, just reliable....

I bought this for my new computer to use as a back up hard drive. So far, so good. It's quiet & does its job.

This is the 3rd 8TB I have.I have no complaints about the WD hard drives. They read and write fast enough for my purposes.

Setup was simple - basically plug and play. Used for local computer backups.

Bought this for my son to make more room for his XBOX games as the internal Hard Drive full. Works great!

I needed it to go between a Mac and a pc. I finally figured out how to format it. Personell at best buy were no help at all.

Bought this for my PS4, didn’t like the fact that I had to use the power cord but still gets the job done.

All my movies are stored on this and still adding. Only problems is sometimes it can be loud and heard throughout my bedroom.
