You would think it's as easy as plugging in, dragging and dropping files but its definitely not. I can't figure out how to back up things on this to save my life! So its just sitting on my desk collecting dust. If you're not at all tech savvy, it's going to be of no use.

better warranty then easystore, since they don't carry seagate

I purchased this HD because it was a certain price, which was wrong. I returned it because I found what I thought was a better buy. Turns out that neither of the drives worked with my Mac nor was I able to find support.

Worst product for protecting your computer needs. This is my 2nd time and the hard drive failed, the second time I was unable to retrieve my information.

Bought this to use with my smart router which has a USB File Sharing 3.0 port. Now, before anyone says that I need a NAS drive, NO, that is incorrect, my router has built in network software and requires a simple drive. The problem is that this drive has preloaded backup software on a separate partition which cannot be removed, and the drive cannot be reformatted to remove this annoying partition. Tech support was unhelpful in getting this to work. I ended up searching lots of info in the internet before I got the answer.

Unit was hard to set up and would not work well for me.

I would stay clear of this external hard drive. The running noise was very noticeable.

Open the box and you'll find a 2x3 piece of paper with microprint titled Instructions. Installing the software is easy, unfortunately reading them is an exercise in futility. There should be an explanation of the available features recommended for your needs - there isn't. I would have expected a clear users manual that gave a workflow with "for this/that do this/that", the maker thinks you have a day or two to play around. It took Columbus weeks to discover America, it took me 3 days to get the RAID configuration working right!. Oh, and by the way, it is slow. Still searching for answers.

Loaded it less than half with files, failed about 2 days later. Could not even mount it to erase it, so I did not return it with all of my files still on it. Desperate, I removed the drive from the enclosure in case it was the interface that was bad, nope, it was the drive. Waste of time and money. In fairness, I have used a lot of Western Digital drives, they are always my first choice, and this is the first bad experience that I have had.

It doesn't do what the Best Buy rep told me it would do. I was looking for a wifi enabled HD. the one I wanted was sold out and the sales rep said this one was identical and wifi enabled. It is also a little loud.

Too many updates, definitely had to stay on top of them, network was definitely being probed with the ports this device uses.

Problems since day one. Just wanna use it for my IMac Timemachine function. WD support took 55mins and never picked up.

I bought this external hard drive to store all my digital media as my library continues to grow I need more space. Well it's only been a few months since the purchase and the device no longer works and has lost all the digital media I had stored on it. It's very disappointing that I could spend so much on a product that fails so quickly and loses all of my tv shows and movies. Would definitely not recommend

I couldn't get it to connect to my computer correctly and then I was locked out and couldn't access the data when I tried to reconnect. Confusing instructions.

There has to be a better device. I have had several crap out on me. I will not be buying another one.

I'm using this drive, essentially as a backup drive, and I've been using it for about a week. This week, out of the blue I got a windows error that "the drive was damaged, click here to scan and repair" or something to that effect. Not what one would expect from a drive that is this new and has been used so little. I've had drives that have gone years of much heavier use that have had no such problems.

This drive is very slow and worries me everytime I unplug it. Very sketch makes loud noises

I don't like my computer. I don't like posting pictures and asking me why Ike it. Same with news on the machine I don't it and cannot like them out. I don't know if I will be bill for something want. I need more. I will probably return the machine to vendor.

I do not what is it, but every time I turn the computer ON and My Book is connected my computer won't start... I took me a while to realize it... as soon I disconnect the hard drive my computer starts with no problem, so now I wait for my computer to be ON in order to connect back My Book, NOT HAPPY ABOUT IT.
