Great capacity, great price if it's on sale at 129.99 like mine was. It's the cheapest way to get a WD Red 8TB drive. The drive sticker is white but it's still a red drive.

This was a great purchase for me. I am a photographer so I need reliable back up which this gives me.

I got it because it was a good deal but it has a lot of noises and sometimes its hard for my computer to pick up on it

I use Western Digital hard drives for data collection. Never had an issue with any of the drives.

Replaced a failed Seagate 3TB drive, losing all data. Have a much older 500GB WD drive which is still working well, so decided to buy a new WD. Very satisfied so far - zero issues.

Great Drive, i always recommend WD for our back up storage. Works just like it's supposed too.

Got this external drive to house photos, videos and music so that they would be backed up to the cloud. Found out the hard way that the cloud service would not back up drives formatted with exFAT. Had to reformat the drive to NTFS. Once that was done everything works fine.

I currently have 6 of these 8TB external hard drives which I've removed the drive from the enclosure and installed into my Synology 1817+ NAS server. The drives have white labels but are WD's red NAS drives which normally sell for over $300ea. Great buy!

Great value for when you need large storage. Used for archiving video files and photos.

I have had this external drive for a few months now and use it with my home theater pc setup. I have no complaints so far and I am totally happy with its performance. Right out of the box was a really easy plug and play setup for me and the extra software included is a plus.

This seems to be a good unit, it is a bit noisier than the 4TB My Books, you can hear it like clunking and clicking as others have reported too. And it looks like you can get rid of your password without having to wipe the drive. I just wish it didn't make the sounds it makes, but it seems to work great.

This has to be my tenth WD drive purchase in my life and became the third one added to my mac Mini. The oldest is 7 years old and still going strong. I use them for the majority of my file storage and for all Time Machine backups. Can't go wrong.

I've had another 8TB WD My Book for over 2 years now and it's never had a problem yet. Bought this one to double up my storage capacity as my media collection is growing by leaps and bounds.

Virtually unlimited storage. Very fast file transfer when utilizing the USB 3 port.

Great piece of gear. Set up was easy, as was moving games, files, etc. to the device. This freed up much needed space (for more games, lol) and our gaming PC runs much better now.

I needed a back up hard drive and this was very easy to get set up and started.

Have had several WD drives over the years, upgrading to larger as needed and have never had a problem. Some of the older drives less than 1TB are still working fine. This drive was simply plug and play. Connected to my router and I can see it anywhere in house.

Did lots of research before buying from best buy first of all best buy geek protection always the best second proper installation and owner usage will keep this product in a good working condition

Fast external. People say the Indonesia models have WD Red drives in them. Not sure about that. But it might because it's fast when transfer my Photoshop files and videos. Good unit.

Great for the money. I use this to backup a raid system and take off site.
