Solid storage drive. Running a lot of larger files.

I love this hard drive lots of storage and has encryption built into.

Always waiting for the hard drive to spool up. If I leave it alone for seconds, it will shut off and I have to wait for the drive to spin up again. Frustrating but I love the 8Tb size.

It's great for storing my vhs videos for future burning to dvds.

This particular model was not available in my local store. I was paying cash or would have ordered online. The helpful associate suggested that I could pay for and have it delivered directly to my home, no ship charges. It arrived on my doorstep in two days time. I have been using it and am very pleased with the speed / transfer rates with this model. It was well worth the money.

Just purchased the product and I am so disappointed. I guess there is nothing wrong with it. As it seems to function as it should but this product makes a hard vibrating thumping. I thought it was something wrong and after verify with the manufacturer's site, its apparently normal for it to do that. I am also frustrated at the fact that it can not be plugged to a USB hub or added to my network USB extender or it can not be discovered. Its 8 TB the whole purpose of it was to have it as our network drive. We love movies and have a large collection of digital ones that we like to add to our drive and view from our computers, cell phones, tablets or TVs. This is the third drive I've purchased (first and last with this brand) and hadn't had previous problems so I didn't anticipate one now. I don't think I would recommend this drive to anyone.
