Easy to configure to all devices on he network. Backups can be set to different intervals and for when you will not be using the devices. Nice external hard drive.

I've had this device for about a week initially I took it out the box followed the instructions, low and behold the device wouldn't connect so I went online to try to find the issue. WD website, YouTube, CNET wherever, still nothing. So I called WD support and I end up on the phone for an hour with the rudest customer service representative I've ever been given, who was telling me "I can't be seeing what I am!" Eventually yet reluctantly sharing my screen only to find what I had said wasn't a lie the problem was the firmware was out of date and the patch wasn't working properly. By this point the HD had been syncing for about a day. The firmware was upgraded and it then took almost TWO days to download my 500GB MBP (for those keeping track it's been THREE days of syncing). Finally I had hoped all would be well returning after work on day three... Nope, now my devices wouldn't recognize the drive again so another call to WD a much better representative this time (I will add I've yet to be told if this could be hard wired to speed the initial transfer if so throw in a $3 USB or say "Hey save 2.5 days of waiting and use a USB") I eventually got it to stream 20 minutes of a movie but when I stopped it to reorganize music files again the drive stopped being recognized by my devices This is a poor product to put into the marketplace with at times bad customer representation and limited online help (for my specific issues) I paid a price for service I didn't ask for the company to go above and beyond at least give me what was advertised. (I often read but don't really like writing reviews though sometimes bad experiences need to be mentioned)

works but requires a bit to set up to function fully. I purchased this to share files amongst my laptops, but have not got that function working yet. Not sure why it is also showing on my Blue Ray as a device, but maybe when I get a move from a device loaded there, it will be able to run on the Blue Ray?

This was a replacement for a failed Time Machine hard drive. Set up was a breeze and I was surprised and pleased how easy it was to get running for automated backups.

The product is easy to install, has a nice wizard and also have the instructions in a really friendly language for those without any knowledge about computers.

I loved how easy it was to set up! Copy files just like it is another drive in the computer. It also allows you to set up access to your files for others.

I wasn't sure how this would work but I love how easy it was to set up and that my wife can access the cloud for her data as well. I love having my own cloud.

Nice device to backup photos. Make sure your Wifi works. Some photos/videos do not upload. I usually have to go through them all to make sure they have uploaded before I delete them off my phone. The organzing of your photos is not great. I wish it were much simpler.

I was able to set up and install very easily. Back up doing as stated AND the cloud access to my files is GREAT!

It is a great product and I think in future people gonna make a big use of it. I purchased this for my personal use and did not see any problem/issues so far.

I initial setup where I immediately started changing some of the default settings with really reading the instruction manual meet with some disappointment when I couldn't obtain the results I wanted. So, I started from scratch and followed the instruction and what do you know, everything works just fine. I'm able to access my content from anywhere. Also I'm able to share files with my friends.

I purchased this drive to share my photos an backup my MacBook Pro and it met my expectations. It was really easy to install and functions as expected.

I was looking to set up a cloud for all of our data in one place. this fit the bill. Great capacity and really easy to install. I'm very pleased!

As described (and as marketed by the Best Buy sales person), this product should be fantastic. The sales person, and product description, indicated that this product could be set up to automatically backup the computers on our home network and act as a storage device that can be accessed from anywhere with internet service. What they failed to disclose is that one of the known and widespread problems with this product is that it has significant connectivity issues. I purchased this in July but didn't have time to set it up until the fall. The first time I loaded the software onto my computer it worked fine. Then, after the first time my computer (the Surface Pro 3 running Windows 8) came out of sleep mode, the WD My Cloud device was no longer discovered. Despite 10+ hours, including 2 on the phone with WD tech support logged into my computer remotely and hours reading endless user forums of people trying to solve the same problem, my computer will only recognize this device if I uninstall and reinstall the software. Thus, the advertised feature of automatic backups doesn't work. Further, this doesn't even work as a storage device. In addition, the software is not user friendly and the dashboard and user views look like they are circa 2000. (I'd be willing to overlook this if the device actually worked as advertised.) If you want to try this device, make sure you try to set it up and check on the continuous connectivity within 30 days of purchase so that you can return it if need be. Also, google WD My Cloud connectivity issues first so you can see what you're getting yourself into.

THis cloud storage provides plenty of space. I can access it from wherever I am, but remains very secure. The fact that I could hook up my old external 1 TB drive was very useful, as didn't have to move over all my files, and increased the total amount of storage available. All in all a great buy, and Western Digital's Customer Service is top notch.

it is great to be able to see your files & pictures from anywhere in the world from ether your laptop or Apple products. it is easy and intuitive..

Purchased this for my mother in law so that she would not have to worry about manually backing up her computers. Easy setup is especially nice.

In a 3 man office this works for sharing and storing information. We are all able to locate and work with clients our partners have worked with.

This is awesome. remote access. Separate space for each family member. Would recommend this to anyone
