I was surprised to find out it had to be hard wired to the wifi. User interface not easy for a novice to understand. Has lots of storage for the price, able to backup computers, tablets and smart phones to.one device. Still learning how to utilize the device.

Got this up and running very quickly. Now I have access to all sorts of things anywhere I go. I have a Mac book pro that was running out of room. Was easy to move iTunes over and set up time machine for backups.

The software that came W/it is not so good, I'm having trouble connecting other hard drives to it. It's slow as hell even over a 5Ghz network or wired network. One of my PC's is connect by wire (Cate5) to the same router that MY CLOUD is. It took 1 full day to transfer 1.5gigs of files. The firmware upgrade didn't help. But the worst is if ur trying to access the drive (My Cloud) from another PC over the net. First U need JAVA installed. In my case only Internet Explorer was the browser that I HAD to use. As I tried to access (My Cloud) thru the WD My Cloud web service a pop up from JAVA would say, Click here and accept the terms that this is totally an unsecured process and U are responsible for any unsecured access. WTF? OK I needed a 62MB file so I agreed. What a waste of time! I have very good upload speed but it didn't matter, 4 hours later the file had not even started to upload, not even 1%. This product is ok for a home network Hard drive to access files, vids or music in ur home, that's after a few days of transferring those files to it. I would not recommend this as a true CLOUD.

This is perfect to hold memory as a back up to any electronic device.

Great storage device. It works best for pictures in my configuration.

I did my research before buying this external hard drive and I agree with the reviews. This was easy to install and allows for access to all of my personal files.
