I anticipated something that would be convenient and useful, what I got was exactly what I hoped for; I'm able to put the materials in a place where it doesn't matter what device I have, I can always get to them.

I had a somewhat difficult time in the set-up phase of this mycloud device. When using WDSync it automatically is set to sync all your documents, music, video, etc. When I let this run it was taking a very long time to complete. So, I tried copying files directly to the drive. This then produced errors that two files of the same name were added at the same time. These 6000+ files just sat in a "pending" case. I finally used another free software, FreeFileSync, to get all the files in proper sync. Now WDSync seems to work well.

Great way to store all our photos. Easy to setup and run. Does exactly what we wanted it to do.

Purchased and installed in an hour. Thought connecting directly to internet switch would make backup fast...no, still took 6 hours to backup. but each successive backup is automatic and I don't have to wait.

Had problems trying figure it out. Had contacted a friend that new about computers. He explained to me how to do send pictures and home movies but my relatives having problems seen it.

My main reason for purchasing this drive was to provide access to photos remotely, such as on my Android phone and my wife's i-phone. While access from within my wireless home network is fine, I can not get access to work on my phones unless I am at home! That kind of defeats the plan. I can't say anything about tech service support, because I have not sat down and tried to get them to help me yet. There is a strong possibility that user error is involved! Still, I followed the intuitive steps, so hoped for the best outcome.

I decided to upgrade from our current 1TB USB attached drive to this Cloud Drive to allow easier sharing of files across our home computers. The setup is simple, basically auto provisions the wireless connection and there is a quick start wizard for each operating system to connect. I recommend this drive for anyone looking to share files within their home... or from anywhere.

Even with the occasional short loss in connectivity it has been worth the investment. I am comfortable all my devices are backed up, and being able to access that data virtually is a useful perk.

I like the ability to access it from multiple computers and from the internet. I do find its tendency to "drop" its connection to devices annoying. Overall, its a good file sharing option.

I purchased this as it was less expensive than the Apple Time Capsule. However, I had some problems getting it set up. However, in all fairness, I am not very tech savvy.
