Product works well and doesn't take up much space.

Awesome to access all my files over wifi connection

In theory, this should be a great product, but we never could get it to reliably work. Even transfer of large files directly from the Mac to the device was painfully slow and would crash the device. Connecting remotely caused the same issue and since you were nowhere near the device, you couldn't just restart it. I think this will be a great product when they get their connectivity issues fixed.

Can't wait to fill it up and add another one to network.

Very fast once it is set up in your network, watch out what you might share.

Have used it to back up but not yet to retrieve my files.

This is a great addition to our home network environment.

Maybe it's Windows 8 compatibility, maybe it's the WD file system, but I cannot create a system image on any of my Windows 8 PCs. The Time Machine backup for my Macbook is really slow over wireless. Don't get me wrong - the product works, but it's not as great as it seems. The 3TB is nice, as well as the DLNA. My TV and iTunes picked it up immediately.

The My Cloud is okay but it seems like they could make it a little more user friendly.

The idea is great and compelling, but the reality is other. It's too slow.

The cloud drive was working perfectly for just over a year. Now it is a paperweight. Don't plan on storing anything on this drive that you want to keep! I had about 2 terabytes of videos, pictures, and backups of documents that are lost now.

Didn't know I would have to use software on my com... Should have though.

A regular home network is going to be a bit slow for huge data. But it works.

I have had the 3 TB unit for about 10 days. I have set up a couple of users, and I have set up a backup schedule. Over all it is a good unit, but it is not 100% reliable. I can get to it remotely from my android phone and android tablet, and it is reasonably fast. Set up was easy and only took less than an hour including downloading and installing all the applications. I had to reboot the router before the WD drive could be detected by other network devices. For a test, I set up two users. I gave the users some of their own “share”, and some directories were shared by both users. I was able to log in as each user, and got to the directories/shares which they were set up for. Then, I changed the share for one of the users. After the change, I could not get into some of the shares I was able to get to before the change. I deleted this user, and set it up again, the same as the other user, and still could not get into the shares it had. I tried this several different ways with no success. I even rebooted the disk which didn’t help. I gave up on this after an hour. The other major issue is the back up. I set up a backup schedule. The data to backup was about 41 GB. It took about 4.5 hours for the backup to complete which is slow. This backup job was set up as “Continues” back up. During the past 10 days, it has detected about 5% of the times when files have been changed. So, about 95% of times it does not back up files when they are added, changed, or deleted. My Outlook file (outlook.pst) has changed about 100 times (most of it intentionally for testing) during the past 10 days, and it has only backed it up 4 times so far. This is not acceptable. The third issue I noticed is the speed. I didn’t run any benchmark programs, so what I am writing is only my observation, and what Windows reports. The report below is a read and write from a wireless connected PC to the network. Read = about 3 MB/second Write = about 2.6 MB/second There is nothing wrong with my router, and I can upload/download from internet sites faster than this. All applications and drivers are up to date. I tested the security of the unit as much as I could, and I did not see an obvious way one can get in to areas they are not allowed to get to. So, security seems to be without a problem based on my limited testing. I will update if any of the above changes, and if I find out I have done something wrong to cause any of the above issues.

I have to return due to a defective device and is not working at all.
