However, this device is more suited as a backup only device due to lack of features which would allow it to be more index friendly. There is a lack of a sort option when looking at drive which makes it useless for my application

10MBps was my real world experience

Terrible drive, couldn't get it to work properly
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.You're supposed to be able to use this as a network drive, and also as a DLNA media server. I couldn't get the DLNA server to work at all - it never appeared on my network, and I could see from the WD console that it wasn't even starting the server or indexing the media files I had. Also, rather than being seen as a network drive, you have to install the WD software on each computer to get it to see the drive, which I couldn't do on several of my devices.

backup drive with options

Once I get time I plan to use the other features to share media with the family in our own internal storage cloud. So far works great, with a simple web interface to control. Will let us take it on the road when wifi access to other cloud storage is not around.

WD NAS Did not met up to my needs

Replaced iCloud.

Syncs to iPhone/iPad to store music/video/photos. Great for backing up pc on schedule or continuous. Has private space as well as public sharing space. Safe and secure data storage under my control, not Apple's.
