I use this HD to save my pictures, it's great you can access from any place and check your document or pictures

i bought because i want my own backup for my personal reasons i asked around and was recommended the cloud

Just too easy to set up. Just plug in and follow the one page card found in the box. Just too easy.

The WD back up software could benefit from being able to set the precise timing of back ups or allow for direct or cloud based backups .....

This hard drive was exactly what I needed for my network. I may need another one when I fill the space.

This cloud unit functions well. We can load up sharable content and access anywhere.

I upgraded from a previous version. This is great if you don't want your info up in the cloud.

I selected WD because I have other products from them and have always been satisfied. However---this one not so much. It provides an easy start Plug it into power, plug it into network, download some S/W and the world is great. The Plugging in part was perfect ...but that is when it turned into a brown mushy substance. First the software they suggested by name was not on the page they said it would be, When I did get the S/W, It didn't load they way they said it would and once it was all loaded and actually working. It ran so slow. They say the most probable cause is your router is not fast enough but That is not the problem here, Once a backup was actually started it ran for about an hour and then started to beep every second - lost connection, gained connection - lost connection - gained connect - You get the picture - They said it was my network yet nothing else on the network is/was having a problem (and running they were running Fast) It needed to be reset to stop this beeping. Shut down, turn back on, start again. Another hour later same. Poor S/W. Poor Connection, Poor performance speed, poor product. Very disappointed in this product based on previous WD products I have. It was returned. I didn't even want to see if another one might work. I wasted a lot of time and effort on something that should not have been complicated to install or use. Yet neither were easy. I gave it a one star because "0" Stars is not an option.

Using this for all of our movies and pictures, saving all of our stuff was very fast & easy.

I purchased the product for ease of use based on what the description stated. Unfortunately it has required a couple of calls to set it up appropriately for my needs

This is not very user friendly. It is a challenge to set this up. I would not recommend this anybody other than computer professionals. It is also expensive.

It does what I expected. I am not tech savvy at all, and I didn't have any problems whatsoever.

If you don't have a Internet connection, don't buy it. I thought I could hook it up to my home network but you need Internet to access it and to set it up.

Love this device - a true set it up and have peace of mind backup device.

Very difficult to set up, the introductions it came with were wrong, once i Googled some help i was able tol get it working although not correctly.

Hard to set up and difficult to to run. Instructions hard to follow. After I finally got it going it seems to do everything it promised.

Back network nightly to this drive. Works well writing both ways.

Works ok have some trouble with the drive start7ng and stopping sometimes and it runs choppy, now th7s could b just mine not sure

Great product, a bit tough to connect but once done works great.
