Setting this up was a breeze just plug it in and connect the included Ethernet cable from cloud drive to an empty router port. Head to the website provided in documentation and register an account and your device. Was up and running in 5-10 minutes with easy access to 2tb of storage via my home network. The software that you download to manage it will even let you install a plex server into it if thats your intended usage for it. I find the price a bit much but you are paying for the convenience of having the storage hooked up directly to the router as opposed to doing some of the work yourself. I have several external drives on my home setup shared among many PC's so the $50 or more charge for this cloud drive seems a bit much for something I can already do myself. If you want something easy and simple to have some shared storage on your home network pick this up.

I would not recommend this product. It is a total waste of money. I have worked with this product.for quite a few hours, with a total unfavorable results. Do not waste your money or your time. This was a replacement for IOmega Drive, which lasted more than 10 years and I am sorry it is no longer available so I do have some experience with this type of drive. This is junk. Larry

2nd WD cloud we've purchased. this one as a gift for my parents. once we got them all set up, very easy for them to use!

Bought this for our daughter so she can do back-ups while she is away at her 1st year of college. We use one at home as well.

Western digital personal cloud is reliable and has excellent technical support. This is my second personal cloud and it works just as good.

This is a very good remote device to get all your data. the bad part is can not connect locally using usb must have internet access to connect your data

Purchased to back up my Dish DVR. Product is NOT compatible with the Hoppers! Product seemed to be quality tho. Could be a great purchase for use with a computer!

My old WD MyCloud was a nice DLNA media server. Shows up on DLNA smart televisions as an DLNA NAS server and easily streamed media to the TV. However, with this new version of of MyCloud i.e. My Cloud "Home", setting this up as a DLNA media server was a true nightmare. You MUST use the PLEX app, and the TV MUST have the PLEX app available-supported and installable. And even with THAT, getting this to go as a DLNA media server was impossible. On the phone to WD tech support "second level support tier" for 2 hours and even they could not get this My Cloud "Home"' to act as a DLNA media server, even with using PLEX. WHY WD, WHY? would WD release a new version of something that is actually worse than the previous version???? Whatever the intension of WD, this new version called My Cloud "Home" is NOT a DLNA media server. At least not as was the older version which simply worked!!! Needless to say, 2 hours is enough time wasted messing around with any technology. If it doesn't work, it doesn't work. Plain and simple. Will return this to Best Buy and keep my first generation My Cloud drive, which DOES work as advertised for the most part. All I want to know from WD is WHY?????

I have never owned a cloud before but it was my neighbor who is an IT recommended this product. I am very happy with it so far.

I've been using the "my cloud" drives in Sonos setups I do with great success. They're easy to set up and work great.

Honestly don't access it that often. It just kind of exists on my mantle with the router.

Took a little time but after a call to WD works great. I use it for a backup drive for two computers.

Great for maintaining your own personal 'cloud'. I just wish I had bought a greater capacity unit.

I needed something like this to serve as a back up for all my files on Mac and this product does that well.

Haven't had any issues yet.. it works real well. i can access it from anywhere. Its also a great back up drive.

I think its great but the problem is i have so many files located everywhere, dropbox, google.. desktop and now the fun is organizing it all...

Takes quite a bit of getting used to. Not a bad drive but interface could be more user friendly.

It was not as easy to set up as I would have liked In some documents must open online even though they're stored on the device.
