I like this hooked to the network for backups. It is small enough to fit under my desk

This is an excellent piece of technology. We have an electronic home and this is a great addition.

Easy to hookup. It's nice because I have many computers. I can get to my files from any PC or phone.

WD My Cloud Home 2TB The idea of this device is to provide an alternative storage location for your files, photos, videos, etc. You can access these saved files on a smartphone or computer from anywhere using an internet connection. This can come in handy when you need access to your desktop computer files or want to show/share large videos that might be too big to save onto your smartphone. For example, download the My Cloud app onto a smartphone and you get access to everything that has been stored onto the My Cloud Home device. There is also a desktop app and a browser page where you can drag and drop files/folder that you want to be stored onto the Home drive. The service also lets you share specific files with other recipients without them seeing all of your other data that is stored onto the cloud. The setup of the My Cloud Home system is pretty simple. Use the included cable and plug it directly into an open port on your WIFI router. Then you go to a specified website to sign up and download the program. Once installed on a PC, you just have to right click on the specified folders/files you want to be sent to the cloud and select ‘Sync to My Cloud’. On my newer computer with top specs, I did notice a slowdown while syncing all of my photo/video files to the system. My disk usage was constantly near or at 100%. I think it has to do with the WD Discovery app that was downloaded to perform the backups. It is listed as ‘wdsync’ in the task manager. Hopefully this will go down once all the files are synced. Overall, it’s a nice system if you need to create a PC backup or save and share your files across all devices.

We are happy with this purchase. It is working well in the apartment our daughter is living in.

I love this product but the first one I bought had a crash and I had to recover all of my files. Make sure to use the backup feature.

Bought this to use with my Mac and Apple Time Machine. Simple setup... works great... love it!

The product works as designed. Need vendor to manufacture a smaller unit (1 TB).

Had many convenient features for mobile users of you are just looking to back up and access photos and videos. But it is a terrible interface for multiple users in a PC environment. The administrator has no access to any other user areas created. Remote access with a PC is only available through the app and not a file explorer.

Works from my phone, both computers, and wherever I might be other than home.

Bought this to use for NAS, didn't work that way so I returned it. I am sure it works as intended.
