No easy to set up but has massive storage once to figure it out

Excellent product. Exactly what I needed. Works well. Compact.

Two things could have made this a 5 star. 1. The ability to set this to back up at a specified time every day. 2. The ability to back up my computer using Window back up system instead of the default WD one.

A nice looking piece of equipment. It works well with Flex and VLC.

Unboxed, plugged in, configured online (pretty easy), used the USB to MyCloud to upload 2 TB of files. The next morning the HDD was completely dead (you could hear it doing the click of death). I wouldn't rely on this for storing your key files without some other form of backup. Best part, I took a few weeks between it arriving and doing the setup, so Best Buy won't stand behind the product and is forcing me to deal with WD warranty.

Finally, wd has gotten this right. The previous gen mycloud devices were ok, but this new my cloud home makes a much better wireless connection and is well worth it. The auto backup feature of pics from ones phone is also quite awesome.

Doing it job, better app would help . App to transfer or upload or even manage or sort content could be way better than it is today. The job of storage is all good.

It is fast, good amount of memory. I miss SSH though

This thing was an absolute piece of junk. Fried my router within two days while it tried to block countless hacking attempts. No way to access locally without having it configured via UPnP which was a huge bummer to find out with that post purchase clarity. Luckily I was able to return this bummer but yeah, -1/10 couldn't recommend to a friend.

Wanted to port over music and videos crom a variety of sources and create a Plex server for fhe home. Initial insgall took about 5-10 minutes from intial unboxing to having a blank drive. Installed Plex server, spent 2 hours copying from multiple sources (i have a lot!), then started the Plex s/w on apple tv and all the files showed up

Just 13 months in use and the drive is failing. The streaming interface is complicated and app based, though you can circumvent that. Sort of. The speed is fine and size great. I only wish it had performed it's job for a reasonable amount of time.

Good for home user. Price is less but very less documentation available. Not compatible with iPhone X and above.

Easy setup and use. Used it to replace a Windows Home Server machine. Much faster with the Home Cloud.

Bought a WD MyCloud Home 8tb 2 1/2 years ago. Trusted the manufacturer over 30 yrs. but not this product. Numerous problems even after RMA, 3 times. No problem with original WD MyCloud 4tb from the day it was first bought.

Xfinity keeps alerting me that malicious sources are trying to access my network through this drive. I dont have any ports forwarded on my router, this drive connects to an external server to allow you to access your data on the go. There is no setting for local only setting as a WD employee specifically told me that this product requires internet access in order to operate

I bought this to augment an Apple Time Capsule. My previous external hard drive continually had to be reset to use on our network. My Cloud Home was easy to set up and has been extremely stable over the past 3 weeks.
