Good little hard drive for the amount of money spent

Easy to set up and use, my only complaint is size.

Don't wait until it's too late and risk losing important data on your computer. This external hard drive is great for one time data back-up or regular system-wide back-up for your computer.

I use this for backing up my home pc. It became really slow to transfer the backup. I defragged and it didn't solve the issue. I followed the instructions on WD website to format the drive and it also erased all of the preinstalled software. WD customer support was useless. They would only respond by email and give generic responses to my problem. I can drag and drop files to copy but the automatic back up is so slow. Im going to use it for an extra storage for my ps4. If that fails I will be out $60. Disappointed.

The drive look big on the picture but when you see it yourself, it's extremely small. I'm really happy with it, and it's good for a to backup your pictures, so you don't leave them on your computer.

We use it for the Xbox, it took about a minute for it to get formatted and it's been running great ever since. Not a worry about it not being solid state. Definitely faster than the internal drive.

I needed to transfer contents of a server from California to Ohio overnight. I plugged the unit in, copied the data, boxed it up and shipped it overnight. It arrived with all the data intact.

I had been having trouble with my computer.i went to Best Buy and the technical folks fixed the computer. The external hard drive was essential to preserve my computer stuff.

While this external hard drive probably does what it is supposed to do (back-up files in case you need to retrieve them) it is surprisingly difficult to figure out. Inside the box, the only "directions" was a tiny slip of paper with a website. Even at the website there seemed to be an assumption that the user already knows what to do. No "getting started" or tips ... After using the backup function to copy some files off my dying computer, I tried to restore the files on my new replacement PC, only to find out it seems to only want to restore the files to the same PC they came from (?)

After reading reviews of various backup drives, I think my choice was the best one for me. I wanted to split the drive so that two of us could make backups. The oline help from WD wasn't as helpful as I expected, but the local Geek Squad came to my rescue. My questions were answered and I love the convenience of auto backups.

Small and easy to use. No issues to note as of yet.

This is the second backup of this brand and type that I have purchased. The set up is easy and I use it to keep my computer backed up daily through the automatic settings.

The product works perfectly, and is very affordable.

better than the one I previously purchased! Best Buy staff were very helpful in deterring which hard drive would be a good option so it doesn’t break like the previous one I bought.

I'm posting this a few weeks after purchase and it's been great so far. It's very lightweight and convenient and I've never had an issue with Western Digital which is why I tend to stick with them.

I had downloaded some program information onto this disc and when )later in the day) I plugged it into my laptop all it did was try to connect. I did try to connect to my PC and it works great! Have not tried the laptop again--so don't know if it was a fluke or an issue. The laptop is about 3 months old.
