More than I bargained for.

This external hard drive comes with an anti viral component that automatically downloaded on my computer. I didn't want that. Also, I am not a computer guru and it's a little confusing to use. I just thought it would be much simpler.

Okay if you're backing up

I'm not super nitpicky about getting a RAID system as long as the read / write speed is fast enough. It doesn't say on the box wether it's 5400 or 7200 RPM, and I'm also one to distrust WD because I've had two other HDs break down that was their brand. Buy at your own risk.

Defective device lost data.

Initially the transfer appeared to work and the old computer was wiped clean. Afterwards it was discovered that the HD failed and I lost all data including 2 years worth of pictures.
