Compact external drive Functioned well until after a WD drive update. Device would not properly stop running & eject from laptop.

All you have to do is plug it in and get started. The 1 TB of space is pretty decent, unless you're doing TONS of media work, which fill it up quick. There is also an application that downloads with the software for it and it allows you to backup, secure, and keep track of your data easily. I'll be getting another 1-2TB for my PS4 too.

I love WD drives with its reliability and support. After loosing trust on Seagate products being dead for no reason and lost plenty of data, I stop buying. I have had few of these WD drives and none failed Thanks WD

This device is ideal for Mac Time Machine backups. Although only on the box it says it's compatible with Windows only, you can reformat the disk in Disk Utility and use it for backups on Time Machine. The device does get hot and makes a minor noise, but that is normal since it has an actual disk inside of the device.

I took everything off my laptop and put it on the hard drive. All of my photos, music, and all of my documents. It is easy to use. Plug it into your computer and you can download and upload everything. It works great for what I want it to do.

I recently picked up one of these drives to back up video and audio clips. Plugged it into the USB 3.0 port of my laptop and it was recognized almost immediately. The speed is great... took only a few seconds to save a 260 MB file. A good product at a reasonable price.

I have 5 WD hard drives and they are all My Book types. This is the first time I've ever bought a My Passport and it's very slow. I'm not here to say bad things about it because it does work but it's so very very slow in the backup phase of using it with my Mac. The My Book takes off and gets the job done fast but not with this unit. It can takes hours rather than an hour like the WD My Book. If you're looking for portability then this is it but be warned that it's very slow. I'm having other problems with it also. It seems to never finish it's back up but the back up shows to have been completed. I've never had a problem with My Book or Elements.

Instead of purchasing a 100gb flashdrive this is a perfect alternative that comes with a ton more space for me to save files onto.

Bought for expanded storage for XBox One. Works well and I think is faster than the internal.

I bought this for a ViewTV AT163 Digital TV converter. For recording shows. And either playing back with same or LG's BP200 Internet enabled Blu-ray player. While both these units sense "something" is connected to their USB ports. Neither unit can utilize the hard drive. Despite the manufacture's claims to the contrary. I did connect this hard drive to a Win 10 laptop and it worked perfectly. And, I like the hard drive doesn't need a power supply. I'll find another use for this storage device.

I bought it for my ps4. Easy to use and it works great.

Read/Write speeds are great and works well on my XBOX One

There are faster usb portable storages are out there but WD is the I trust when I backup important things. So far smooth ride.
