Good product to utilize to save data prior to having computer serviced / repaired prior to having computer worked on

I needed a reliable back up system for my lap top and this serves my needs perfectly. It takes very Little time and gives me peace of mind that I will not lose any files or pictures

This portable external hard drive will store more than enough photos-probably will be able to use it for at least 3 years before it gets filled up. Lightweight makes carrying easy.

I was worried about the documents taking so long or not showing up at all. But the steps included with the external drive made everything very easy. Love it!

After talking to geek squad about my lack of space on my new mac, it was recommended that I get an external hard drive. I love having everything on the hard drive and not my mac.

This works as great as any other expensive HD. I have two of them and a Mac HD which is spendier than this. No difference. Previous one I have since 2015

Don't know yet how it is working as my wife hasn't used it yet and that's why only 4 stars for now, but Geek Squad was really good in recommending this external hard drive to us and putting in the backup info for us for her computer. Would buy this for my own computer.

I bought the My Passport external drive as a backup for my laptop. I was told it would collect the contents I wanted and then do an auto-update if something changed on my Laptop or at scheduled times. As of now I do not know how to get it to do updates of the backup. I created the 1st backup fine..no biggie. I don't think it is doing the auto-updated backups.

I m totally satisfied with the purchase. Got this one with a good deal from BB. owning this for quite a while. Using it for both Mac and Windows with so much of ease.

WD DRIVES ARE GOOD PRODUCTS FOR BOTH WINDOWS AND MAC. This particular drive is formatted for windows, but can be reformatted for MAC.

For our trips in recent years I use a camcorder to record our trips, flights and tours. In past years I have made DVD's of our travels but the DVD recorder stopped working earlier this year. The sales rep. in Best Buy said this device would serve as replacing the recorder. I guess it does but I have been shown several times how to use it and to this day I am not able to get it to work. Somehow I cannot figure out how to get the recordings onto the Passport device. Still working on how to get it to work. It does not seem anywhere nearly as easy as the DVD recorder. DVD recorders are hard to find and certainly are my preferred method.

I haven't opened this one yet, but I've got the same drive from last year & it's great. It does require an electrical outlet to plug into in addition to its USB.

I own 3 of these. I find them very useful and reliable for backing up and storing files on an external device. I have never had any problems with the Passport drives.

I bought this because I was worried that I hadn't backed up my hard drive. I've bought this Brand before and love how intuitive it is to use. Backup done so feeling safe again!

I have always had fantastic performance from WD external hard drives, and this one is no exception. The 1TB storage plus the USB 3.0 made this drive a great value.

Great drive so far, it plugged directly in to my Xbox One and has been running fine ever since. I love it, and it seemed like a great price from my local friendly Best Buy store.

It's great, tons of room, great travel size, fits easily in purse or suitcase. I purchased this for travel, but honestly would be more than enough for using with desktop or laptop.

Have been using it with my PlayStation 4 without a single issue. Has been reliable and will continue to use into the future. Thinking about buying a 2 TB.
