This drive is pretty much plug and play. If you have windows backup setup to this drive it will automatically back up the requested files at the interval selected.

This device connected easily and, once I got it up and running, worked well. Getting my computer to recognize the drive and figuring out that I had to download additional tools in order to set up the backup preferences took more time than I would have liked.

I purchased this to be a backup drive for a PC laptop. I have purchased many WD drives in the past, and appreciated the USB 3.0 speed. The nice color was a bonus. Easy setup.

Hi bought this because my hard drive died once and I needed something to use as a backup. Knock on wood it doesn't happen again but it is serving its purpose.

This was purchased as added memory for an XBox One. It's easily installed and formatted through the XBox while adding much needed storage for more games.

Geek squad set up my backup drive that all I have to do is plug it in to a USB port and the rest is auto. No excuses fot not backing up. Just can't get any easier.

Bought two of these for backup. Transfers are fast and the drive itself seems durable but the micro-USB end of the cable seems like it should be treated gingerly.

if you can't put your data on a flash drive to work from, then this drive is a good value. its spin speed at 7200 makes it adequate for video editing. that's what i'm using it for via Premier Pro CC. and i've yet to have a WD drive fail; I've lost some LaCie drives otoh.

It's a USB device, it just sort of works so there's not much to say. The backup software from Western Digital is nice to back your entire PC or pick-n-choose your folders.

The ole slip & slide technique of layering on one more protection for data recovery is meanigful. It's economial, reliable and even an ole lawyer can figger it out

I was looking for a new external hard drive to replace my old, much larger one. This one is perfect! The size is nice and easy to transport. I like the color too!

I'm using this hard drive to download music to played in my virtual Dj, i downloaded 53,000 song at once and I still have more than 3/4 of the space still available, love it

Needed an external drive to split work and personal and be able to work from home. Perfect for what I needed and plenty of space to hold files and images.

These portable drives do not disappoint when it comes to taking a lot of information with you. I use it for work because standard jump drives don't get it done like these.

I was able to store all my Documents , pics and files in one place and I still have a lot of space left

Easy to install and easy to use. Got disconnected for a month or so but great service from the supplier got be back on track in a hurry.
