These “My Passport” have a 3 year warranty, whereas some other portable external drives from WD offer only a 1 or 2 year warranty. Why? I assume they, WD, believe this model will last longer. Many other portable external HD manufacturers no longer offer any of there HD’s with 3 year warranties...why? If I need a portable external HD I will always buy the one with the longest warranty.
