Most Frustrating device I ever purchased. There are no instructions for operation. The Manual is on line but provides no insight in operation. It seems to be intended for 24/7 usage i.e. not for the occasional backups. Retrieval of files is impossible. Files downloaded for saving are in mystical format that is not what you need. For my purpose, Seagate is a better option.

Couldn’t get it configured correctly with my Mac. I could not access anything, so I had to exchange it for another one.

Every time I create files on one computer and save them on my Passport, upon connecting it to a different computer to access the files there are corrupt records. I purchased the drive on July 31st 2020, so it is only a little over three months old and is transported in a padded bag, the first month and a half I had no issues but now it's an everyday occurrence. I Do Not Recommend!

I had the worst time with this external hard drive. The computer would not recognize it half the time, I ended up having to do workarounds, youtube how to get it to work, then it lost about 50 graphic files I had transferred over. I can't get that data back at this point. This is a terrible product with KNOWN issues. I wish I had read the reviews on google FIRST. Don't waste your time and money.

Wish I could give zero stars. This is the third WD hard drive I've purchased and 2 out of the 3 are not working properly. I spent over half hour with WD support yesterday which didn't resolve the problem and I'm now on hold for over an hour and still haven't reached a tech.

Quality of construction is not as good as earlier units

Bought the USB-C to HDMI Adapter that was recommended by the store attendant and it was not the right one at all. I figured it might not be the correct adapter as the person I spoke to just said, "Here, it's this one" without really listening to my information about the monitor and laptop I am using it with. Have to make another trip back to Best Buy to return it.

I have a Macbook Pro and it kept freezing when I was transferring my photos and files into Hard drive. I had to type in a password every time I opened the device. Usually that would be great but for when using at work it becomes a drag to type in password.

No worries about the product. We STILL await BB to credit us for changing this transaction from a debit card to cash.

It seemed to work great. However less than a year and it already crashed on my. It's only halfway full. I use it as an archive for family photos after 9 months it stopped working. Luckily I have all those photos backed up elsewhere but it's frustrating and scary I almost lost all those. I'll never buy another WD device.

Not so easy to use. My last passport was simple, this one not so much

Great for docs but not so good for videos and pics

About 60 days working well, between there has few errors but it was ok....later on....unable to read and load files...I haven't dropped it ever...there has keep error message can not loading it...or literally freeze...I tried to go to drive manage and revolume and format...you know frustrated part is it cannot quick format...just throw away.

When I talked to a BestBuy sales person, they said this device it was an SSD hard drive that will be fast and silent. The 1st one was defective and exchanged it for a different one and the 2nd device well it's incredibly noisy when it's being used.

The external back-up drive never worked. I tried several times to connect it to my laptop. I thought I must be doing something wrong. When I brought it back to the Geek Squad at Best Buy, I was told the unit was ineffective (didn’t work), and that it was past time for Best Buy to replace it with one that works. Tough beans. An unhappy experience.

TRASHHH!! The struggle you have to go through with this Hd is unreal. I am a digital nerd, I have to repair this thing too many times. Continues to unmount from my mac or windows systems, swapped cords; not the cords. One time, I lost all files on it. Throwing this in the trash!

This is my second drive back to back I've purchased and failed, these Passport drives are awful and I do not recommend unless you want to give free money. Second WD drive to fail within months of purchase. These drives are horrible

This drive started making a 'click' sound when I was copying over some files. My transfer failed and so did the drive. I usually only buy Samsung SSDs since I had such poor luck with WD for years in my laptops and video backup drives. Thought I would give them another chance Looks like nothing has changed

This item did not come with an instructions on how to use. Very frustrating.

I would’ve given this zero stars if I could. The hard drive died on me two days after I bought it. I returned the Best Buy for a refund.
