My Go To external drive. It allows me to travel to different work sites carrying private data and proprietary software without having to load it onto those computers for security reasons.

I've had no issues so far and the Hard Drive loads quickly. I'd say it's worth the money for the amount of space and the ease of use. All you're doing is plugging this thing in and you can use the WD Locker application built in or not. I believe the Locker function works as the encryption, but don't quote me. I'm not the best with the technical jargon, I just need something to store my files that are clogging up my computer's hard drive. And when it comes to that, this drive gets the job done.

I have used several of the WD My Passport drives both as portable storage/backups and as expansions for gaming consoles. The drives have worked well and are quiet and fast. I purchased this drive as a gift for my 3 nieces to use on their Xbox for storage expansion. The drive connected effortlessly and was setup for Xbox use in minutes. Works well and they are all 3 very happy having space to store their games. I have found the 4TB & 5TB versions to be reliable and fast and expect the same from the 2TB version. The drive is quiet even under read/write load and operates very fast when connected to USB 3 and works well on Usb 1/2 ports as well. It is also as vibration free as possible. When starting up you can barely feel the vibration when touching the drive and it certainly is not noticeable through your desk. The only visible indication that the drive is powered is a small LED which is bright enough to be useful but not so much that it is a distraction. To maintain the reliability, especially if this is a travel drive, I highly suggest getting a padded case to store it in. I have used both a padded case and the original packaging from the manufacturer for transport and both have protected the drive very well. This drive is a great purchase when it is on sale and not a bad purchase at regular price.

The power supply on my old laptop no longer functioned, so I had to get a new laptop. But, I needed to pull all the document and data files from my old machine. With the help of a computer service, they took apart my old machine to get data and documents off the hard drive. The WD - My Passport was the perfect vehicle to store all my old data. Now I can move whatever I need to my new machine, and continue to store my older data on the Passport. Perfect solution to storage needs.

Western Digital is well renown for their products. You can never have too much storage. For those of us that are not completely on the cloud bandwagon, this is the way to go. You can back up anything and be able to retrieve it when YOU want. Servers can go down or be delayed. Also, this can be used for video game storage for all you gamers out there. You do not need to buy a system for an additional 100 + bucks for extra storage. This will save you money and time in the long run.

The physical size of the drive was smaller than I expected. The 2TB was more than enough space to save photos and videos that I had stored in the cloud and multiple different flash drives. Software was easy to install and works great with my Google drive. Only downside is the software is a bit temperamental and closes everytime you click out of the program.

I wanted something to simply download my computer full file backups to take with me on trips in case I needed to review documents, etc. while traveling. I bought three of these portable hard drives because they were reasonably priced and didn't need any additional electrical plugins other than the USB-3 cables. So far these 2TB drives worked like a charm, have plenty of space, and so far never missed a beat in reviewing any needed files.

I am a photographer and need storage devices for my photos. The Western Digital My Passport Hard Drives are the best ones I have found. They plug in easily to my computer at home, or my laptop while I am traveling, so that I always have space to store and access my photos. They are easy to take along when I travel because they are compact and well made. I would recommend these for any storage needs you may have. I have several of them that I have been using for years.

Thing and light, so perfect for travel and on the go and purchased directly from Best Buy for about ~$69.00 (that's including sales tax). Comes with some trial WD cloud storage and haven't tried that yet, but my purpose was to just back up some local folders and files as a secondary backup, just in case for any unprecedent issues that occur, so this serves its purpose for that. Have owned for about a month so been working great, thanks!

JUST what I needed to save my data when my desktop died! easy to use, small, great storage capacity.

Bought this to help me transfer all my data from the hard drive of one laptop to that of another (no I don't like to use cloud storage, its not easy nor do I trust it). This is so easy, just like copying files from one folder to another. My 500Gb hard drive which was half full, copied over quickly to this unit and back to the new laptop. Its also a good way to archive data from various computers around the house or office, and the red color makes it easy to find.

Holds all my documents no problem. Would buy again. Its small so easy to travel with. Seems to be durable.

My wife tends to upgrade her phone and computer/tablet more often than I care to admit. When she does so, she transfers her files to an external hard drive. Well, she ran out of room with smaller ones and so we went with this. She has been able to transfer all of her files to this and has plenty more room to go. File transfer is quick, small enough to be portable with no issues, and the cables fit snuggly with no issues. Would definitely recommend.

Ver happy with the price for the amount of storage space. And it is very small - smaller than a deck of cards. It says it comes with an auto backup program, but you have to call and get a link to download the program. So far, it hasn't done a complete backup. I don't know why or even IF it's actually backing anything up! Also, the service number given is for Sandisc, and they don't service this WD drive! They keep referring me to the WD service. So far they've only given me instructions to use the Windows 10 backup, and that hasn't worked either... But, it does store the files I've manually dragged and dropped into it.
