Although I don't have a need a portable drive, I use it for imaging my laptop hard drive and my wife's. Saved and restored my digital life twice. Also with native encryption in 1 gig segments, so you can't identify individual files in the image, but it restored two user accounts and related files with mlnimal rebuilding of personalization features.

A photographer's storage dream!

Owned for 1 week when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Being a photographer, I purchased my WD-My Passport because of the convenient of changing back and forth from my desktop to my laptop. the 2TB holds hundreds of photos, and as take my photographs, I always name a folder and put them in the folder, then drop them into my Passport. This is my third one as I keep my old ones and never have to be concerned when I want to "pull up a particular photo" because are organized by years. I am very pleased with the 2TB of storage it has.

It took 5 minutes to teach her how to use it and she was able to backup all her data with ease.
