Bought this for backing up my ps3 hard drive. Quick tip for using it on PS3, it is much easier to format this drive using an Apple laptop or computer. The drive has to be in fat32 format, but MBR as well. I tried to do it on pc and it either became just mbr or fat32, and for fat32 you’d need a software that could do that for anything bigger than 32gb thumb drive. So yeah, apple computer is the easiest way to do it. Can only rate 4stars as I do not know the longevity of this drive yet.

Its so tiny and powerful and SO WORTH IT. I have SO MUCH STORAGE NOW. I just need to get some velcro adhesive stuff to stick it to my laptop so the cord is out of the way but this was perfect.

I expect this brand to hold up and perform well but this one is just ok. It performs as expected for the most part but it sometimes does not show up in my list of plugged in devices. Last time a drive behaved this way, it failed. I hope this is a fluke because I'd hate to lose all this work saved onto this drive. I love how small it is. It's also light weight. That's a bonis

Portable easy to use. Price was OK, but it was on sale. Red color makes it easy to find.

I have hesitated to purchase an external back up system for over a year, but finally I gave in to the need. Its easier than I thought to use and I feel much safer than I have using only small flash drives. I feel that the back up drive lets me store all of my information and photos in a safe secure and permanent record.

I've had two of these for a while now and haven't had any problems. They are a little smaller and lighter than the previous version of 'My Passport' (the ones with a rectangular textured diagonal space rather than the triangular space on these). I like the older ones a little better as they seem a bit more solid due to being slightly bigger, but I can't deduct any stars for that preference.

It was the perfect solution for my storage dilemma involving my PS4. Rather than storing my downloaded contents such as apps and games directly in my PS4's storage and decrease its processing power even further, this external storage served as the optimal substitute so that the PS4 can utilize all the free internal storage in to function better.

My passport has the perfect amount of space and is light and easy to carry along.

My laptop does not have a lot of storage space so I bought this to make up for it. Was easy to set up and use. Downloaded a game on it and can play it on my laptop now without it having to take up space in my internal storage.

I bought two of these WD drives to back up the footage we were shooting in New York. The first WD drive I purchased worked fine and is still working. The second one started to allow me to put footage on it but then stopped working. I tried to reformat it but nothing worked. When I tried to add the footage it would just make a weird clicking sound. I told me DP about it and he said what brand did I buy. I told him WD and he said that was a mistake. In the past when he purchased WD drives, he said 4 out of 5 times they didn't last. That being the case and after my own experience, I will never buy WD drives again. And I will not buy anything from Best Buy again either. Their return policy is too short; only 14 days. I was out of the country and then flew to New York to film and by the time I got home the return window was over. Even though the drive didn't work the very first day I tried to use it, Best Buy won't allow a refund if you're past the return window. That's a BIG mistake by Best Buy; having short return periods when everyone else allows a much longer return window, especially Amazon. I won't buy anything from Best Buy any more because of their short return policy.
