I have one for each of my computers and I backup my computers all the time, in fact most of the time I leave the passport hooked up to my computer and just save everything to it so if my computer dies, I still have all my records.

Exactly what I needed

I was planning on buying Acronis software to handle the imaging. However, this drive came with the software we needed. So, it saved me some $$.

My Passport 2TB External Hard Drive - useful/easy

This external hard drive does exactly what I want it to do - it allows me to back up various folders and subfolders from my computer so that if there is an issue on that machine I will have the various documents, photos, etc. backed up on this external drive. I am happy with the purchase and consider it a fairly inexpensive way to insure that I do not lose important items stored on my desktop.
