Lasted less than six months of very light usage as an external storage device for an Xbox One, failing and taking 1 TB of stored games with it. Drive is now largely unmountable with a tell-tale clicking noise. On the rare occasions it does mount, the console reports all games stored on it are corrupt.

This stupid thing keep bugging out I should have went to GameStop

I own other styles but this one stopped working after a few months.

This item is defective it stops working 20 days after I bought it, I’ve called customer service to see if I can get it exchange they have told me it’s out 5 days of the exchange date so I’m left with a broken external hard drive. I’m sure that’s my last time buying stuff from them.

Stopped recognizing and would only show “fatal error “ when trying to troubleshoot. Lasted about 2 weeks. I kept meaning to return but so busy at work kept forgetting. So now I own a red paper weight I’d be willing to sell you cheap.

I had bought 2 they both broke withing 5 months. i do not recomend these.

When I connected this to my Mac computer there was a "grinding" noise coming from it. Never heard that one before. After formatting it for my Mac it would not mount on my computer. Returned this dud for a replacement. The replacement is not making sounds and is functioning fine for one day at least!

I have had this for less than a month and it already needs to be replaced. This item went bad on me 4 days after the 15 day return policy. Do not purchase If you plan to use this longer than a month.

I have had this drive for 4 months, no problem with it then randomly after 1 week it just no longer is recognized by anything anymore and just gives an error.

I brought it home and put lots of valuable data on it and it tore up the next day. There was no way to get to the data. This is just my experience. I’m sure it’s a fine product but the one I got was not.

Bought it for the ps4 worked good for about two weeks. Started needing repairs once in a while. A month out and it constantly needs repairs and reformats. Turned off the automatic sleep setting on the hardrive using a pc, still has issues. Probably works great as a normal pc external hard drive.

Had to return. Wasn't working when i bought it for a friend.

this carp product will annoy you. In week two it failed to open. I freaked out big time, because I had a lot of information stored in it. Then for magical reason, it worked again. Now it seem to work, but I can no longer trust this crap and had to buy store again from cloud.

I was able to add several GB of data from old computer stored it back in its box, but when connected to new computer it worked for an hour before the computer would stop recognizing it. Must not be a good design.

Do not buy this product, had for 2 weeks before it crashed and I lost everything; schoolwork, photos, and videos, everything I had on it. DO NOT BUY! WD can not recover you're data and you have to pay again for a possible used one for replacement to your new one!

Stopped working already, well failed just about a month after purchase. I/O error and drive not initialized all of a sudden, nor will it. Of course it was college students weeks of work locked up on there.

was unable to connect the unit online it would update. Failed after many attempts including with Western Digital so ended up throwing the MY Passport External Drive into the garbage.

It has been 2 weeks and for my disappointment, it just stopped working. I was taking a good care of this but, for my disgrace.. is has stop working... very disappointed.

Bad experience. Stopped working and had hardware issues within a few months of use. Very disappointed. There was no way to do a hard reset either. Rotten.

I bought this about 2 weeks ago and it is no longer working. Do not buy it since it’s trash. I should have researched online and there are a lot of issues with WD passport which you can look up on YouTube. Never buying WD products again!!!!!
