I went to the local Bestbuy, evaluated all the available memory units offered. Once I determined what I neede, I selected the unit I wanted. The price was within my range and the capacity meet my requirements. Easy and painless process which took less than 15 minutes. Happy with the results.

I bought two of these WD drives to back up the footage we were shooting in New York. The first WD drive I purchased worked fine and is still working. The second one started to allow me to put footage on it but then stopped working. I tried to reformat it but nothing worked. When I tried to add the footage it would just make a weird clicking sound. I told me DP about it and he said what brand did I buy. I told him WD and he said that was a mistake. In the past when he purchased WD drives, he said 4 out of 5 times they didn't last. That being the case and after my own experience, I will never buy WD drives again. And I will not buy anything from Best Buy again either. Their return policy is too short; only 14 days. I was out of the country and then flew to New York to film and by the time I got home the return window was over. Even though the drive didn't work the very first day I tried to use it, Best Buy won't allow a refund if you're past the return window. That's a BIG mistake by Best Buy; having short return periods when everyone else allows a much longer return window, especially Amazon. I won't buy anything from Best Buy any more because of their short return policy.

Great product for more space very easy to use and transfer data

It was easy to set up and performed right away. And it has done what was expected.

When I received the package it was alone inside the delivery box without any protection, so on the way it received blows, very bad for a hard disk, but so far everything works fine. I have always bought WD, it is the smallest version I have had of Passport, it looks like an SSD, it has less vibration than previous versions.

This device helps me keep the files on my laptlop saved. Should the device die on me, I know the files are saved & protected. I have some files I do not want to lose. This device helps me sleep knowing that I won't ever lose these important files. The device also allows me to bring my files to another laptop and use them there.

If you need to transfer, or backup, digital files and you don't want to use the cloud these external drives are the perfect solution. Small enough to easily carry and work with. The interface is Micro-USB Type B and the drive has the capability for data encryption and password protection.
