Seems that data transfer is on par and the built in software is actually somewhat convenient while not affecting usage if uninstalled. As the basic backup drive it is I've been more than happy with it and it's price point.

Bought this one to assure I had plenty of storage space. Only reason for the 4-star review is because the backup software on the drive doesn't work due to license expired and I had to use one off the Internet.

The storage space continues to inflate and prices continue to fall. This year, I scrutinized over the Passport and Elements. There are no discernible difference. Purchase the one with the better price.
