    Didn't work for me

I was very unhappy when I tried to use this external drive. It had no directions on how to use it and I couldn't get it to work. All that was included was a Technical Support, Safety and Warranty Guide written in English and many other languages. Thankfully my niece figured it out but it is worthless to me unless she comes over again. When it did backup my laptop there was no setting other than hourly or daily. I only needed to back it up once. Thankfully I have the One Drive which now backs everything up whenever it is changed and I don't have to fight with it or try to figure out how to do it. Not sure if Windows 11 is the problem as I've had the WD My Passport external drive before and never had an issue trying to use it with Windows 7 and 10.

My favorite reason for buying the WD My Passport range versus any other hard drive is the encryption. You set a password to access the drive which is perfect for levels of security you might require.

Worked well for a time, then failed before a year was up. Used a data recovery firm after Geek Squad failed to recover data. Independent firm was able to recover some data, but not all. Only gave 2 stars because it did work for a time.

My Passport Drive failed after 3 uses

I bought this My Passport drive to transfer my financial data from one PC to another. Worked fine the first 2 times. A few weeks after purchase I went to add more data and the drive had failed. It's making a clicking noise, and now there's a warning message that Windows doesn't recognize it. BB states that it is out of the return time period, Plus I wouldn't return the drive anyway with all my inaccessible personal finance data on it. Disappointed. $80 down the drain.

even when I follow the proper steps to disconnect it from my ps4 it keeps saying you need to repair extended storage then it would say you have to format this again and everything you downloaded has to be deleted It literally only works once at a time never again I wish I can return this but I didn’t start using this till a month later that’s my fault for not trying it out though

This portable drive failed after 60 days of light use. I've tried using the Warranty process for WD before and it's not worth the hassle/time/cost to get a new crappy old tech portable drive. This is my last non-SSD hard drive. I've learned my lesson after three failures in the past 1-1/2 years with platter-type drives.
