The drive is good, but the software isn't.

However, the automated backup software isn't that great. I constantly get errors while it's attempting to back up that the drive is locked. There is a sleep option on the drive that I enabled and you would think that the software could "wake it up" to start the backup. But apparently not.

A Very Good Product. Needed to back up some important data from my computer. Never can tell with a computer when it will crash and lose all your data. Thank You.

Reliable storage for a good price.

It works very well, and is able to read/write from a couple different computers without much hiccups. Was able to stream a movie from it while my wife transferred files to it.

Perfect multi-use storage device

Re-formatting this was quick and easy, and have had no issues (knock on wood) with data transfer. Cost is significantly less than a marketed Xbox external HDD.

WD 2TB passport HD with 256 bits AES Hardware encr

With 2TB (around 1.81TB actually), you’ve got plenty of backup space. For additional $10, you can get the Passport Ultra version from Best Buy, but they are pretty similar except for the USB interface. The cool thing is that it comes with a free one year cloud subscription.
