I don't think much thought went into this but when its less expensive there is a reason why.

Did not have step by step instructions. I had to contact the Best Buy Geek Squad to get it to work, but even then was not on the right track so ended up bringing it back to the store to get it to back up the info I wanted.

I am currently getting an "acccess denied" error with no access to data. The whole point of an external drive is data security and access. I will never purchase another external drive from Western Digital. I had similar experiences with another WD external drive.
