I had to buy a new one to find out it was only the cord.

This product is good for what I needed it for. However it took more time than I thought it should have but I had to download all some stuff to my Mac before this product would work. OverAll though it does what I need it to do.

The low rating is for the way Best Buy treated me. I bought this drive in the store in exchange for one I had ordered by mistake on the website. I had erroneously bought a drive for a Mac and I have Windows 11. The exchange was handled fine and I walked out with a drive in a box that said it was for Windows. When I tried to install it, the computer couldn't recognize it. I took it back and had a Geek Squad tech try it. He said it was defective and should take it to Customer Service. The person there discovered that it was another drive for a Mac. The previous person at Customer Service had just scanned the bar code on the box, not looked at what was on the drive. After a discussion with a supervisor, he came back and told me that what I was trying to return wasn't the same drive I had received about a week earlier and they wouldn't take it back. The implication was that I was trying to pull a fast one and they wouldn't allow it. The fact that I got that drive out of a box with a Windows drive serial number on the box isn't my fault and Best Buy refuses to live up to their responsibilities even though I have been a Best Buy Total member for years.

Great value for the price. No issues so far. Great backup.

eh.. it okay. It has become slow over time for some reason. I dont know why. The cost to repair is high so I would rather purchase a new one than repairing it. But it does the job just fine for now. I use it for my Macs Time machine back up.

This my second time purchasing this items. The first one just crashed leaving no way to get my info. Thank God I had a BB warranty and was able to purchase again. I recommend if you purchase get a warranty I sure glad I did and don't store nothing of value.

Good product but took forever to download from my computer.

As a beginner, the instructions were sometimes confusing.

Does not work with my Macbook Pro, even though the salesman said it would. Im giving it an Average rating, because it probably works fine with Window OS, but not with a MAC.

Just ok , I don’t like how I have to unlock the WD.

This is an unstable and unreliable external hard drive. I am currently getting an "acccess denied" error with no access to data. The whole point of an external drive is data security and access. I will never purchase another external drive from Western Digital. I had similar experiences with another WD external drive.
