Easy to connect, and works right away.

Ready to write. I created a backup disk image first thing. No issues. I was backing up a 2 TB hard drive, and expected the disk image to occupy the entire Passport drive. It required only 0.4TB for the disk image. I can make regular incremental backups to the drive, while keeping the Disk Image.

Simple To Use and Durable

Upon plugging it in for the first time, it was quickly recognized and mounted. The drive has been dropped more than a few times on the carpeting with seemingly no ill-effect. While I find the data transfer speeds to be unremarkable, they are acceptable to me for its use as a back up drive.

NOT intuitively easy to use

Geek Squad knew nothing about it and not able to help after three sessions. Called HQ to complain and Geek Squad said it was defective and shipped a repacement. Geek Squad not able to help with that either. I called Western Digital factory, they knew what they were doing and now it works just fine. HINT TO BEST BUY: If you sell something train your experts how to trouble shoot it. You didn't and you wasted several days' worth of my time. POOBAH!
