I needed to copy some large video files and needed a large capacity hard drive to get the job done. The drive worked well and I'm currently using it on an editing project. I work on a Mac and this version is set up a little more for a PC (there's also a version sold at Best Buy for a Mac but it was not in stock at my store). To make sure it works on your Mac, reformat it with the Disk Utility program before you use it. This just takes a few minutes to do. You may want to Google the process for more info. I do suggest unplugging any other external hard drives or flash drives before you reformat with the erase function, as you don't want to erase the wrong drive. One thing to keep in mind is the size of the files you'll be importing to the drive, like I did for video. For me, the video files were bigger than 4 gigs, so I formatted on the exFAT setting. Basically, that means the drive will work on a mac but you can import and store larger files on the external drive.

No bells and whistles you don't need. It is an external hard drive for backup that works like a champ. Plug it in to your 3.0 USB and start copying your computer over. It is enough to hold the entire contents of most laptops in the palm of your hand. Now, go put it in a fire safe until next week.....

This device is perfect if you want to back up a computer and or transfer items from one device to the next. It held thousands of pictures and documents which was so much easier than even beginning to think about printing and saving all of those items. It is also small and can fit anywhere

I love this product so much, I purchased a second one. It is very easy to use and can back up automatically at set intervals. It also comes in a lot of color options. It is a great value too....I can't imagine how a more expensive product would be better. It is extremely fast.

I dont know yet which is better for long term data storage ie, small hard drives or data sticks, but this unit is perfect for transporting files from computer to computer. Fast enough to handle day to day use and 2TB is really hard to fill up.

Product is working good. Had one prior and had no problems. Fairly easy to set up. Feel safe having my computer files backed up and safe. Would recommend this product. Customer support for WD is excellent. They answer your emails quickly and stay with you until any issue is corrected.

Purchased this product a month ago and I love it, loaded all my favorite games onto it and i dont have to worry about deleting and re-downloading anything. Very recommended but if you want to swap out stock HD's be careful for warranty will be void and you cannot return the item.

When I went to the store I was seeking out a Seagate Hard Drive for my PS4 but they didn't have any. So the salesman told me about this one and I've yet to have issues, plus it's a cheap hard drive for being a 2TB.

We use many external drives in our film production and stock footage licensing business. It's the best way for us to keep our projects and collections separate. This is a hearty drive, and we have many of them. Never had a problem....never. Great product and super price from Best Buy.

The Geek Squad recommended we purchase this external hard drive before we attempted to upgrade our 8 and 10 year old Macs . great piece of mind saving all the old pictures and music we had loaded prior. My I-Mac updated fine , my wife's , not so much . Well worth the price.

Since purchasing my passport portable storage it has worked perfectly and has given me no problems. The design is nice and the drive itself is lightweight and easy to transport around. Also just being able to plug it into the USB is nice without worrying about a second source of power.

I bought this hard drive to use with my tablo 0ta dvr and they both work together well. connected it to tablo and after I typed format and it only took about 5 seconds to format.It was an easy learning experience for me and I was on the way to get the tablo authorized.

For the price it's a great external. No complaints got it for classes. Holds multiple virtual machines.

I bought this as a replacement for my 1TB WD portable drive, which apparently died while ripping music into it. My lifetime music collection is stored on both the computer and a backup drive. The replacement is working fine, though I'm only using it for storage. I wasn't impressed by the software interface with my laptop and am choosing not to secure the drive with a password as a result. Went with the funky color to save money.

This bright yellow WD Passport external hard drive actually feels kind of fun to plug in, unplug, and carry about. It has 2TB of storage which was what my wife wanted, and the fun color she requested. Wife is pleased, I'm enchanted. Everyone is happy!

My Passport is fantastic. I bought My Passport because I do genealogical research which includes thousands of media files in each tree I maintain. My Passport allows me to store my trees and media files on this wonderful drive which allows my research to go much faster.

Bought two of these for use in discovery in a court case. They work well and were effectively priced.

I needed something to store my data I us for my classroom. Where I work they ask us to save all our work on the cloud. This is a problem when we cannot get internet service and I need the material. this device worked perfectly holding lots of video, pictures and presentations.

Was very surprised to discover that this tiny external hard drive could hold more music than I ever expected!! I DJ on the side and this is the easiest way to carry all of my music with me to play on my laptop or any other music device!! 25,000 songs and growing!!
