This is the second Passport drive I’ve owned. The first one had an issue where I couldn’t eject the disc properly and would stop reading for a few days at a time. Haven’t had this issue with the second one though!

It was a impulse buy and I really don’t have an option either way. It’s a hard drive. Given the fact that it’s western digital my odds that it will fail with in 3 years are 50/50

I have tech support back up my laptop. Work well except the input always slips out of my working laptop. Not sure if it’s this product issue my laptops or if that is just common

I started getting error messages with the WD about a week after installation. These said that all my files were not complety backed up and that the application could not shut down correctly when I logged off my computer. Finally, I reached Jonathan at tech support who initially said the problem was with Microsoft. Then he suggested we uninstall and reinstall it . It was a lengthy process taking over an hour , but as of the last 24 hours, no error messages have popped up. My first external hard drive was a Seagate, which was more of a seamless operation.

For some reason, my back up got deleted. But the data stayed on the passport. An hour of freaking out and I figured out how to get into it to save my lost back up. Customer service is basically non existent. BEWARE. Reviews on all WD products especially passport tend to be drastically different outside of the best buy website. This passport insists on you downloading there software and using there stuff. Its honestly a pain and stressful. Read the directions before you use. Dont buy this if your not familiar with SSD.

I continue to buy hard drive after hard drive and though they all do the functions that are promised, I am yet to find one that can stand up to my portable life...

bust buy tech hooked it up and it seems to fill up quick wasnt to sure why i needed it becaust i have 6TBdrive in my desk top so i may have been sold something i really didnt need

I have had a few issues scheduling back ups to run automatically. It would be nice if there was more literature in the box. Seems to work well and was a good price.

This is a fine choice for basic external storage. It is not as simple as it could be but can be figured out if you have a modest amount of IT know how.

Good price for this amount of memory on external hard disk。 Time will tell regarding reliability of data retention; so far, so good.

I have purchased 2 WD backup drives and returned them both because the software that is SUPPOSED to automatically back up files at preset times does not work at all. You have to manually open up the program and click on "backup now" to get it to backup.

A good product, until the charging port wears out. Then, you might as well throw it away.

Works well as long as you have it in a 3.0 port. doesn't work with a multiple ports attachment

This hard drive needed to be updated and it took awhile and was difficult transferring data.

The drive doesn't show up in both my Mac and PC. Couldn't use it at all. I cant even return anymore coz too much time passed by. When I got it a few months I tested it and it seemed fine and now when I actually wanna back up stuff its not showing up at all. Buy SSD instead.

I have 4 of these. Fantastic docs device but- they have a terrible warranty so.. 3 stars

as I noted in the sumary I was pushed into buying this and my own was better
