It worked right out of the box. All I did was plug it in and then setup a backup plan using the already installed software. With 2T of storage I have plenty of room and the price difference between the 1T and 2T of storage was an easy choice. I even run a VM (virtual machine) from this drive and the performance is fine.

The drive was fully plug and play. I was able to copy files from the command prompt without going into the OS. The drive was fast and I was able to save all my important files. The files easily transferred to the my updated system after I reinstalled the OS. Very easy to use.

WD My Passport drive is working great
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this drive to get around NTI Backup Now EZ 4 problem restoring hard drives from Toshiba Canvio Connect II 2.5TB hard disk drives. The get-around for their issue is to copy the backup from the Toshiba 2.5TB drive to a 2TB drive and restore from there. Worked perfectly. If the WD drive did full volume backups (and, of course, restores), it would be my new HDD of choice.
